We had a wonderful stay Nagano Tokyu Rei Hotel. So much room & close to restaurants,transport etc. buffet breakfast was lovely as well & the staff very friendly.

Business Hotel Gets The Job Done

Our first choice was Hotel Metropolitan but it was fully booked so we booked Nagano Tokyu REI Hotel. It is a modern business hotel opposite JR Nagano Station and very central for transportation, shopping and food. Room is small but that is the norm in Japan. We booked two double rooms and each had a double bed pushed up against the wall on one side with a table with 2 chairs (one built-in) along the window with view of the train station. The bathroom is a modular builti-in unit that you step up to get inside. My only dislike is there are two elevators on the ground floor of the building housing both hotel and entertainment complex. One elevator only goes up to 4F where the hotel lobby is. The other elevator goes up to all floors but does a mandatory stop on 4F for security reasons. Because of this, elevator wait times can be long. There is another elevator that only goes down to 2F so you have to take the stairs or the one escalator down to GF. At certain times the one escalator is set to going up, at other times it is set to going down.

Rooms were too small. The air conditioner would run constantly and the air would blow very intensely. There was no way to have the air only blow when cooling. It would blow regardless of if the air compressor was being used. It would also blow in your face all night. You had to either deal with it or turn it off. The bedding is a synthetic material and very hot. I would not recommend staying here.

Comfortable stay

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is right across the street from the JR station. Room was relatively small with just enough space for my luggage and to move around. The bathroom is a step up so be careful. Overall it was a comfortable stay.

Amazing hotel. Friendly stafff. Rooms are small but were were there to see Tokyo not stay in a room! Hotel is super easy access underground to Nagano station and in the center of it all. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone heading to ski Japan. Great starting location and food choices around hotel are plenty

The check-in and check-out process was swift, and the staff member who assisted us was incredibly friendly and helpful with all our questions. The hotel's location is perfect, being conveniently near the train station. My only issue was with the WiFi; it was quite unstable and slow. Although the hotel informed us that we could select any WiFi hotspot, not just the one in our room, this made it challenging to find a reliable connection. Despite this, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our time there!
