Failed to receive email detailing check in procedure . Locked out of property with dwindling phone battery capacity . Spoke to somebody whose English was terrible. Wasted nearly an hour getting in .
The room was perfect, really large beds and plenty of room in the room to not get in each others way. Bathroom was also spacious.
Would stay again.
Highly recommended.
Stayed one night with four people and it was very nice. The room condition was amazing and everything was very well kept and clean. The bathroom was very nice. Check in went somewhat smoothly. They could’ve sent me the check in info a bit earlier as I had to message them to get it, but they replied within the hour with the instructions. All in all, I believe it is worth the money, it’s not anything super extravagant but it’s a nice hotel.

The hotel is self service and not manned. The company did not send the instructions to enter the hotel and i had to spend money to call the support centre via mobile phone.
The good part: the building is new, and/or the units are recently renovated and modern. The location is good, close to Sakuramachi tram station, and even walkable from the JR train station (where there is a supermarket). The kitchenette is appreciated.
The not so good: the management communication and check in process is poor, as others have written about. Even the process for entering the building via the keypad lock is going to be unclear for most English speakers. The self check-in (there are no staff on site) is confusing and buggy. The only saving grace is that there is a "Help" button on the Ipad that gets you quickly in contact via video chat with someone who speaks reasonable English. Also be aware that there are no laundry facilities on site, and at least for my suite, although quite large, there is no desk. Nor USB-A or C charging ports.
We stayed at 2 Grand Base hotels in different cities on this trip. Both are spacious, looked new, and clean. This one in particular have multiple paid parking spaces around the property which is very convenient.
However, the door code came to us late on both properties. The check-in time is at 3pm but we didn’t get our code for this hotel until 9pm!! And only after the Expedia customer service call the hotel for us. It was very frustrating.
The wifi in our room also didn’t work. The in-room tablet that was supposed to give us more information was frozen (also no ENG options on the tablet?? Like why??). We contacted the Expedia customer service but they couldn’t reached out to the hotel anymore by then.
So, I’m not sure if I would recommend this hotel. The room is spacious and comfortable, but imagine if you have to struggle to get inside the lobby in the middle of winter when it’s snowing? No thank you!
Check-in process was confusing. It was not communicated clearly that this hotel does not have a manned front desk. The did not send the access code in a timely-manner, and I had to request for it within a couple hours of checking in.
There are NO amenities. No gym, breakfast, etc.
However rooms are very clean, spacious, modern, and comfortable.
Excellent, spacious apartment within walking distance of most of the interesting stuff in Nagasaki. The apartment is situated on a quiet street and with plenty of sound insulation if you're a light sleeper.
Check-in is a little awkward is all instructions are sent to you in Japanese, so you'll need to run it through google translate if you cannot read Japanese.
The only downside is the relatively expensive parking options at the front of the apartment - about 1500 yen per day.
The hotel is a very modern building and it uses the newest technology for checkin and checkout. So when you get that message from them a couple of days before arriving don't delete it as it has key information in it. The rooms are large and very comfortable - probably the most comfortable bed we had while in Japan. The kitchenette was well-equipped with cutlery and plates etc. The shower was very powerful and the internet was pretty good. It's a 15 minute walk from the station and near the main sites in Nagasaki. One downside was the lack of English on all the devices so we struggled to work microwave, TV, heating etc. But overall highly recommend.
Concierge says parking reservation was not available but asked me for my car's color and plate number. After I provided them the info they replied it was not necessary because parking space reservation is not possible (then why did they ask for it?).
On the day of check in, they said they will send the entrance code by noon. At 2pm I didn't receive anything and had to chase.
Their property is good but their customer service/concierge is sub-par.
Abest Hotel is a comfortable to stay. I would say the best if you are coming by train because it’s just in front of the station. There are some sauna and hot pools too and so it’s very convenient on a rainy day as we had yesterday. There are also plenty of restaurant around
