Hot spring and good breakfast for Japanese speaker
I stayed here since this hotel is near the conference venue and offers natural hot spring onsite, and I can speak Japanese. The hotel is dated in terms of its decor and furnishings but I am not picky about that as long as it is clean. Breakfast is very good and sumptuous for someone who loves authentic Japanese food like myself. Service is OK and it would be helpful if you could speak Japanese to stay here. Otherwise an international hotel chain might be more appropriate for those travelers who don't know the Japanese language and the proper etiquette to bath in a Japanese communal bath. If you don't like the idea of bathing with others in a communal bath, there is a bathroom inside the room that has a Japanese bathtub (higher in depth and shorter in length than a typical western bathtub). However, since the room and its bathroom are both small, if you require more space to move around I would not recommend this hotel.
The hotel is a little dated in its decor and overall facilities, but it is one of the few hotels in downtown Nagoya that offers a natural hot spring communal bath which is appreciated by those who are comfortable with Japanese-style communal bath when you take a shower and then soak in the large hot spring bath tub together with other guests of the same gender (separate men and women baths and open changing area). If you choose to stay at this hotel you will need to learn and follow the proper etiquette for using Japanese communal bath. If you are uncomfortable with bathing and changing without any privacy in front of others of the same gender then you can use the bathtub and shower in your own room. Like most Japanese hotels, the room and bathroom size is very small.
I chose this hotel because of its low price, onsen, and breakfast. The room facilities were old and the room was small, but I think it is good value based on the price I had to pay. The breakfast was good and provided various apparently local food. The onsen on the other hand was a bit worse than what I expected. It looked like a public bath rather than onsen. People didn't seem to care about the quality of the hot spring water but treated the onsen as spa. I stayed two nights but went to the onsen only on the first day. Overall I was happy with the hotel for what I paid for.
The public bath for men and women are on separate floors.. And Alternates daily... I almost walked into women's bath had it not been women coming out of the entrance!
It's a food 15-20min brisk walk from JR Nagoya station... Nice if u are into walking as I am. Great to hit the public bath after a long day of walk.... And it's almost open 24 hours.. Except for 30mins at midnight daily.
Great location just out of the business area but close enough to reach from train station (30 min walk). Acceptable size to room, good room amenities.

Average hotel, comfortable bed, good breakfast
We stayed one night January 2017. Good location close to a lot of good restaurants. About a 20 minute walk to Nagoya Castle. Room was a twin bed, very small room. Bathroom was tiny. Bed was comfortable. Pillow was hard. The buffet breakfast was nice. Overall this is an average hotel which would be fine for a one-night stay.
when entering you think your in the wrong hotel as the reception area reminds me of a much more expensive hotel .
the staff are very friendly and helpful . the room was small but clean . there maybe larger rooms for couples and families
