Housekeeping tried to enter the room quite early but I had the safety latch on the door so I was awoken to the door slamming against the metal latch. At 10:30 a housekeeper again attempted to enter the room & was looking through the door crack for some time. I opened the door & asked if there was anything he needed. He didn’t speak English but showed me his phone listing my reservation & started tapping on my check out date & time as if trying to hurry me up. I then tapped on the current time to remind him I had half an hour left until check-out time & he left. The elevator wasn’t functioning, so guests had to walk through the parking garage & into a maintenance area to use a service elevator which wasn’t a huge deal. The toilet was also constantly running water into the bowl. I considered calling in a maintenance request but it was quite late & I didn’t know how long this might take so I just put ear plugs in. I’ve stayed at this property twice before & never experienced any issues so I’m guessing this was an isolated occurrence but it was just a bit strange overall.

We stayed for 5 nights, there was soo much noise all the time. The fire alarms went off 2 days in a row. The next day the water was turned off for 6 hours. Day 4 and 5 the elevator was out of service so carrying our luggage out wasn’t fun from the 3rd floor. The wifi didn’t work one night. When we asked if they would compensate us with late check out for all the inconvenience they said absolutely not and were rather rude about it.

We can’t fault our stay at Sonder village 21, the apartment was spotless, modern and well equipped. The bed was sooo comfortable. we loved the location, some great eating places and could hop on the bus downtown.

Nice basic apartment stocked with dishes and pans. Was good price on Expedia. I liked that each room had it’s own large bathroom. Carpet needs changing out. It is old and very stained. The shower needs shelves to put shampoo and soap on. You have to put them on the floor. The toilet was loose so moved every time you get up. Walls, blinds were dirty. There were no pictures on the walls so not as warm feeling as would have liked. We were supposed to get a balcony but instead was a patio which has no view so that was diapointing. To get a balcony you need to be on floors higher than first floor. So really needs some upgrading and repairs. We Faced the pool and was quiet but heard facing the street was noisy. The communication is very limited because there is no front desk and when you do reach someone they are usually in another country and don’t know the property. They are polite and say they will look into concerns or needs and get back to you but it does take extra time due to not being on the property. The check in is late 4pm and check out early 11am. If you want anymore time you need to pay extra even if room is available and ready. The location is very good and bus line right in front to get to downtown. But is walkable too. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

Great stay!
It was wonderful once we figured out the way things worked. Folks via chat, phone and in person were excellent for helping us navigate confirming our identities, checking in, getting the TV to work since we’re not used to streaming. Only improvements would be to the bathroom: we needed washcloths, more hooks or racks to hang towels on and a place in the shower for soap and shampoo. Location was perfect for visiting our granddaughter at Vanderbilt.

The Sonder was very close to where I needed to go, Vanderbilt Medical Center. Good location. Room was very clean. All the codes needed and getting them to work was not good as the instructions weren't quite clear, such as using the palm part. Also, once I parked, a sign read "you must have a parking ticket to gain pedestrian access back into building." After 25 minutes, I finally had someone wait inside the door when I went out to see if I could get back in, which I could. Maybe it meant after 11 pm? Have no idea. Several people tried to help me get elevator code work as I rode up and down. Finally, it worked.Again, I appreciate the location and cleanliness, but this will be my last time trying the Sonder.

This was my second stay at this property. The first one was more enjoyable. To no fault of the property we had very loud neighbors above us. The property was notified and they advised they sent the people warning about their noise level. I can’t say it solved the problem. The hallways were quite worn and looked dirty. The chairs around the pool area are in desperate need of replacement. The unit itself is nicely appointed and served our needs. The only thing we thought was funny was the lack of shelving in the shower. Any soaps or shampoos/etc had to put on the shower floor or taken out of the shower when you were done. The neighborhood is moderately quiet for a city. The typical sirens and traffic noise throughout the night. It is very close to Vanderbilt and a cheap Uber down to Broadway. Overall a fine place to stay, but with a little effort it could be a great one.

Inside property was clean, outside was pretty gross... Discarded food and trash everywhere. Room for did not close all the way. Internet did not work first day. Had tried to get a refund when my itinerary changed. Told no refunds. What hotel does not give refunds over a month in advance?
