We initially saw that there was a free transportation online so I had inquired about the transportation from the airport to the resort approximately one week before arriving. I did not get a response until I was on my way to the resort. The notification I got informed me that I needed to make these arrangements in advance. Upon arriving to the resort, I got a free upgrade, which was great to hear. The room itself had a broken phone, a crack around the door seal, and was a little outdated. I put in an I put in a maintenance request with the front desk when nobody came until I did it through the app for the third time. Elevators are used by staff and guests, which is inconvenient during busy hours making wait times five minutes or longer at times. The beach is great with a perfect view. The downfall is a lot of people coming to the resort, beach and harassing about purchasing cigars and riding jet skis. The pool itself can use some work and the environment was a little underwhelming for my liking. I would rate the food, a three out of 10. Nothing seemed fresh and it was the same food every day. The room service was a one out of 10 with the Mexican toast being the worst dish you can order. Do not order unless you want a dish made by a three year-old. There were some really friendly staff, but there were also a lot of unfriendly staff that clearly did not want to be there. you get what you pay for.

Very beautiful property my only complaint is for this to be an adult only the pool closed at 5 & so does the swim up bar & deck bar. So it leaves you to keep running to the Calypso bar which can become very crowded . Loved the nightly shows & the food was amazing

Definitely not the nicest RIU we have stayed in. The hotel appearance from the outside is definitely out of date and needs some renovations. Walking into the lobby I was slightly disappointed again. Small lobby , don’t get that welcoming vibe. Pools are small. Rooms not very impressive. Bed super uncomfortable. Room service not very good. Came back to cups and containers still on our dresser. Horrible smell comes out of bathroom sink. The staff at the hotel made us feel a bit better. Besides that, don’t think I’ll ever come back .

We had a great stay here at the Riu. Beach and pool were great, food was good. Good entertainment as well. Loved the coffee shop but it needs to open before 10am. The one thing i didnt like was seeing the jet ski going thru the roped swimming area on multiple occasions. There were swimmers out, this is a recipe for someone getting seriouly injured

Wasn't a fan of the 15 story hotel. Only 3 elevators and one of them was usually out of commission. Dining with our group was almost impossible unless it was at the buffet. Our safe was not in working order. We spoke to the front desk and still put in a work order thru the app and it was never fixed our entire 7 day stay. Staff at the bar were not the friendliest and were slow serving because they seemed to want to finish their conversation with their coworkers first. The swim up pool was beyond filthy one day and should have really been shut down. The staff on the beach that set up the chairs were amazing. The wait staff in all the restaurants were amazing. The hotel seemed to be Out of a lot of food items while we were there. First 2 days, no bananas. Never could we order an Irish Coffee because there was no Baileys and then day 3 we could no longer get a Caramel Latte because they ran out of caramel. Came to this Riu to trial Riu's because we are going to Cancun in Oct. Riu will not be a choice.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean. Did not like the peddlers on the beach. Did not like the small beach area dedicated to the guests. Did not like that it was right next to a public beach area - kind of negates the Adult Only aspect.

I was very impressed with thr dining options and the beach was wonderul The app required to book restauramts and order items for thr room didnt work half thr time. The staff at the bar were rude and unacco odating alot.. housekeeping was great
