The only reason I give this hotel any credit at all is because of Lamaro, the amazing buffet girls, Shanquell, and Eddy — they were the only people who showed us kindness and professionalism during our stay. Unfortunately, Kenson and Denisha completely ruined my best friend’s birthday with their unprovoked rudeness. They were so mean that we actually got up and left the restaurant mid-dinner, which says a lot since we had originally chosen to eat at Riu Paradise Island instead of Atlantis because Lamaro made our previous night’s dinner so fun and memorable. Thankfully, Lamaro and the buffet girls went out of their way to sing “Happy Birthday” to my friend the next day, but the damage was done. We felt so uncomfortable and disrespected that we would never return to this property. To make things worse, our bags weren’t delivered for over an hour after check-in. We called three times and eventually had to go downstairs and get them ourselves. We’ve stayed at other Riu resorts, including Riu Montego Bay, and the difference in food quality, service, and decor was shocking. Paradise Island was nowhere near that level — the service here truly needs improvement. Also the bathroom water smelled terrible. Like the water from the pipes including the shower, sink, etc smelled like fish or something rotten.

The interior staff in the dining areas, housekeeping, check in check out, bars were superb. The pool area was terrible. There wasn’t any supervision noisy. The bartenders are drinking. They were smoking pot all over the lifeguards the bartenders it was horrible. We’ve been to Ríos before, and this is far of the worst

Restaurants after 6:30pm that you have to make reservations with were sold out for 5 of the 7 days my wife and I were at the hotel. The shows including the international dance was amazing. Housekeeping was great!

I want to start by saying that we loved our stay and will be back. 10/10 would recommend. I will not be staying anywhere else and we go to the Bahamas once a year. The staff was kind and helpful. They were welcoming and made our extra special as we were on a wuick honeymoon trip.The food was delicious, the room was spotless and the whole peoperty was well maintained. I don't understand these bad reviews. Our room had a beautiful balcony with great sunset views over the ocean. No mildew smell whatsoever. It is an affordable all inclusive. Amenities were exceptional and the pools clean. People from all walks of life were met with kindness and heart felt care. It is on a public beach! Do yourself a favor, get the drink in a pineapple, the conch shell horn and a nice bracelet. Contribute to their local ecomony. You only live once! Thank you for an amazing stay. We will be back!
