Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
LOCATION: the location is ok, Puerto Natales is a small town ~20k people so pretty much anywhere you stay is going to be close to the Plaza de Armas and Marina.
SERVICE: the staff was good, when they were around. Katie helped me book my tours and gave me some great recommendations.
AMENITIES: basically none. It’s a bare bones hostel. The only amenity is that you can rent all your hiking equipment from them, including boots, which is really helpful if you don’t want to carry that around for your entire trip.
SUMMARY: bare bones hostel w/helpful and nice staff. The rooms are all single or double beds and the walls are paper thin, so you can hear anything in the next room. Showers are really cramped and will be challenging for a tall person (I’m only 5’9” and struggled to fit inside the shower). However, this could be a great fit for anyone that wants to pay rock bottom prices and simply needs a roof and a clean bed to sleep in. Also, the equipment rental could be REALLY helpful for anyone that is backpacking around Chile or South America and this is the only stop on your trip where you’re going to hike. That way you could save room and not lug around any equipment, boots, etc.
