Tiny toilet

The bed was high to get into and very soft the mattress could use replacing me and my husband both woke up with back pain . The place Was old and beautiful and it sits on The Mississippi River with a beautiful view. The free breakfast was very good with great service. The commode in our room was very low to the ground. I have had bilateral knee replacements which made it hard on me to get off the toilet.

I’ve stayed here before and have always enjoyed it. Great breakfast. We didn’t have a shower curtain in our bathroom, the bedspread was worn out. Overall it was good.

The room was a suite and that was a surprise. It was a gently used property but was ok. The problems was the safe was broke. The tub drained real badly ( the water was ankle deep by the time you finished your shower), it took 15 minutes to drain before the next person could use it. The first day we were back to get ready for dinner and the room had not been cleaned so I got done towels and that was good. The next day we came back after 4 spot was not cleaned so we told the lady to come because we needed towels and the trash cans serviced. She never came so I called, no one still came. I had yo go to the desk and get towels and a trash bag.

Allowed us (it was a Monday) to upgrade to a river view. And what a view it was. Beautiful walking paths right on the Magestic Mississippi River. Dinner @ Pig Out Inn…..Nachos in Natchez….. were amazing!!!!!! Brisket was to die for.

Loved the old look of the hotel. Lobby, bar, and grounds were nice. Loved the big rocking chairs. Pool is very small and wasn't clean.

I had selected pay at check in. I arrived early on check in day. I knew I was early so I asked to check in and store our bags. I did not expect to receive a room at that time. I was told we are too full right now and they would not store bags or check me in. Thos was done very rudely. Not a problem..it'sa holiday weekendi get it. We took the bags back to the car and proceeded to walk around the town grab coffee and enjoy the afternoon since we were at our destination. Fadt gorward to 3PM we went back to the hotel to see if check in was available yet. I was then told that my reservation was canceled due to an issue with my card. I said but i hadn't checked in so you did not have the card to run. I still show my booking in Expedia. It was repeated that the hotel canceled my reservation and that Expedia notified me. I checked my email and i indeed had an email from 12:21 that said i had until 8/31 (the day after check in) to update my payment method. I did mot know there was an issue with the card. My fiance was paying for the room so upon check in we would have used his card. We were never given this opportunity. Instead we were pretty much told to find somewhere else because our room was canceled and they were now booked up. I have NEVER had this issue in the past with a hotel.

Not so good

Great location. Second stay here. Bathroom was in terrible shape. Mold in tub corners, and was dirty. Wall was in disrepair, and sink faucet leaking. Toilet ran all the time. Staff was nice, bartender was great and full of historical knowledge.
