Very beat up and not worthy of Marriott brand. Walked in to a waft of marijuana smoke in the lobby then was informed by the front desk that the king bed we booked was now two doubles and there were no kings available. Room was beat up and disgusting so we walked out and went to a different hotel a few miles away in Shelton that was much better. Awful place.

Let's begin with the musty awful smell upon walking into room. Then the disappointment of the size of the double beds which queens were expected only to realize your whole hotel does not have double queen rooms. Then as looking for bed bugs as we do in all hotels before sleeping, finding the mattresses are not vacuumed clean and questioned many black specs as bed bugs. Every bed we seen had multiple but inconsistent bedding material - some had the protective covers some did not, some had all white sheets while others had aged yellow blankets underneath. All bed were topped with a white sheet. We reserved 2 separate rooms and asked for room manager to come up and see our disappointment, in which she showed us 3 more rooms to choose from - one was a definite no as even the toilet was not clean. She accommodated us with another 2 rooms that reached satisfaction, however definitely did not appreciate her laughing while in front of us while she requested our new room keys with guest services downstairs. We checked out the very next day and took our business elsewhere. So no, we would not recommend the Trumbull Marriott.

Front desk staff is spectacular. Rooms are very nice, needs renovation carpet and linens is damaged and hotel needs maintenance. Housekeeping needs closer attention as they don’t vacuum and place the same towels on the racks without guest’s permission. I marked several spots on towels, carpet and linens and still found them reused after housekeeping entered my room. I still believe this hotel is a good Value and can become better if looked up the above defects are n service.

The property was great and the staff was very nice and helpful I did have an incident the night before I left with housekeeping they kept knocking and I was I was sleeping when I woke up I heard a man outside in the hallway and then stated to whom ever he spoke with that “ some told him nobody was in the room “ so he banged on my door and was jiggling the handle I yelled “ could you stop banging on my door “ and the man left
