Upon arrival the hotel seemed to be very clean and smelled really nice. Once we entered our room there was an immediate intense smell of mildew. We immediately went to the front desk and asked for a room change. We were told that the hotel was booked and no rooms were available. We went to the store for air fresheners and wipes to clean the room to try and make the best of it. The smell never subsided! The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the floor was wet and sticky. The bed sheets were moist and uncomfortable to sleep in. Our clothing items that we unpacked eventually became moist as well. The rug was moist and we never walked around without shoes. We made the best of it but we left the day of checkout the fastest we could! I would not recommend this hotel and would like a refund!

Is my favorite place.the staff always are very friendly. The hotel is very clean and organized. Also you have a dunkin donuts across the street.

They appear to have redone the rooms and not for the better. The closet was where a window would be and closed with a curtain. The room was dark and small, only one chair, the desk chair. Housekeeping was minimal and didn’t clean coffeemaker and replace pods. Front desk staff were unpleasant and unhelpful. When I asked for a coffee pod desk woman said dismissively “If nobody shows up in 10 minutes you’ll just have to come down and get it yourself.” The elevator needs to be inspected and bumps dangerously.

Dirty and run down. Broken ice machines, restroom urinal, and electronic room lock broke during visit locking us out. They fixed it quick but did not pay a premium to get locked out. Hall carpets fithy and the hall reeks. 90 degrees and they did not turn hallway ac on….

Hampton Inn and Suites Newtown

I’ve stayed at this facility many times. The desk clerks are always friendly, efficient and welcoming. This location has two separate elevators that serve two parts of the hotel and there is no going from one location on the one side to the other without going down and crossing the lobby to access the other elevator. The elevator that serves the side where room 301 is located is not in the best of shape. It jerks when started and I’m always hoping I get to my floor safely. The interior is ragged and needs to be refurbished. The rooms I’ve stayed in are fine, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is more than adequate but the seating is beyond tired. The seat portion sinks way down and in a nutshell, the chairs need to be replaced. I’ve mentioned this a few times as I’ve mentioned the elevator but nothing ever seems to be refurbished. I’ve stayed at other Hampton Inn and Suites and I think this one is the worst in terms of its condition. But the folks who work there are terrific.

Some good, some not.

Easy check in. But host sent me wrong direction and I walked a long way with bags, looking for room that was not there. Had to come all the way back and go other way…. left and right side of hotel not connected. Every ice machine I saw was out of order. Hallways seem old and outdated. But room was perfectly fine…. clean and roomy.
