Great hotel with New Orleans decor
Decided to stay two night in NOLA and we wanted a hotel walking distance to French Quarters. This beautiful decorated hotel was perfect. We were walking distance to stream boat, shops, walking tours, Orpheus theater, ect. The only down side from hotel is parking at $44. Plus tax per day and valet is slow. Hotel lobby staff are very accommodating with great restaurant recommendations, late check-out, and hotel provided coffee and tea every morning. Noise level wasn't always perfect, but decent considering its the French Quarters square. Also, the bathroom were a bit small, but expected for building age and location.

We have no dislikes here. The bienville is convenient to great restaurants, bars, and shopping. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They take your car when you arrive and go get it when you leave.

Well kept, kind and very pleasant staff, a wonderful American historical hotel. A must stay for those looking for a convenient & comfortable stay in the French quarters of Nola.

Not quite meeting our expectations
The best feature is the location, hallway between Jackson square and street. the staff was not as gracious and accommodating as we were hoping. I was disappointed by the limited bathroom amenities: shampoo, conditionner and soap was all that was available (no shower cap, no lotion, etc.) Also the bath towels had holes in them, the sheets were a bit rough dnd the bedroom carpet needed cleaning. The complimentary water was only there the first day, and the coffee (whether in the room or downstairs) had to be drunk in cardboard cups. Still the room was lovely, quiet, comfortable. The hotel is close to everything, including the streetcar that can take you almost anywhere. And no matter what New-Orleans never disappoints

I would’ve rated it higher if the lock on our door worked. There was not a working lock, and the first person at the desk I spoke to said she would send maintenance to look at it. Maintenance never showed up, so we asked the new person at the desk, and she told us to barricade the door with a chair… my friend and I took shifts sleeping, but it was not a good experience. Beverly was very helpful and apologetic the next morning, but there hasn’t been a resolution.

We loved that this hotel was so close to everything we wanted to do. If we needed to go back to our room for something, it wasn't a far walk at all. This hotel was very clean, and the staff was very pleasant.

The location was excellent, and the staff were so friendly. I slept on a sofa bed, which was fine. I appreciated having my own space, since it was 3 of us. The pool was not open - I don't think I would have used it, since it was cold outside.

Double Charge for Vehicle Parking
I have a double charge on my charge card for my vehicle parking for one night. I was told it would take a few days to correct this. My charge for the room went through the system within minutes and I am told it would take a few days to correct a charge.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very kind, attentive and helpful. The hotel is near everything in the French Quarter. There is also a fun Tiki restaurant downstairs that serves great food and drinks. Our stay was wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for more!

I have stayed in a lot of hotels in New Orleans and this may be my new favorite. Beautiful from the moment you walk in the door. There were a couple of mechanical issues, but that’s to be expected in an older building and they were handled quickly. Our room was large and comfortable. Very elegant. We were on the second floor overlooking the street, so I was afraid it would be too loud. Nope. Almost no street noise. Very modern bathroom, too. The staff remembered us from day to day and took care of us very well. I will absolutely stay here again.
