I recently stayed at Bienville House, and while it's a charming hotel, it's definitely on the older side. The building has that unmistakable 'old' smell, which might not appeal to everyone. If you decide to park your car at the hotel, be aware that it gets parked at their sister hotel a few blocks away, which can be a bit inconvenient. On the bright side, the staff were wonderful, especially Mailani and Beverly, who went above and beyond to make the stay more pleasant. One downside is the hotel restaurant doesn't stay open late, so keep that in mind if you're planning on dining in. I'm still undecided if I would stay here again.

I have been traveling to New Orleans for over twenty years and have usually stayed at Bienville House. I havent been since before Covid. The hotel is good but in need of updating. The lobby has ceiling pieces missing. The furniture in the room was worn and dated. The mattress would roll you into the middle of the bed. There was no shower pressure at all. The staff was very kind and helpful. It’s in a great location. Unfortunately, I will not stay there again.

Horrible room - no window and freezing g cold
We were able to check in early - that was positive but the front desk person was not friendly. Then we were informed this was an interior room with no window at all. This was never disclosed prior to check in. The room was claustrophobic and there was no way to control the ac that blasted freezing cold all the time. I will never stay here again. The location is pretty good kind of a few blocks from everything. I will never stay here again-

This property was rated wonderful and the pictures were impressive. It was very disappointing, the carpet was filthy, room had a musty smell, and shower was a joke. The hotel in general was warn and dirty! I don’t usually put on reviews but, this was BAD!

The room was fine but there was NO water pressure to take a decent shower. The staff clearly didn't get the southern hospitality memo...but how 2 staff can be expected to manage an 80 room hotel is beyond me. Being on a personal call or eating as guests walk up is not very professional. Go to a break room.

I loved the location, and the antiquity of the hotel. What I didnt like is that I booked a Superior rated room, and saw pics on the booking site that had sitting rooms and balconys. Our room was a small double, with not real amenities. It has an outside patio area that is the roof with high walls. Just looks like a smoking area. I feel like it was a bit of bait and switch.

Wonderful. Lovely and clean. Great staff, special thanks to Dewayne and Beverly. Only complaint is no water pressure in shower, it’s a mounted hand held. There is a rain shower but no pressure. They also don’t do breakfast anymore.
