We really enjoyed the hotel a couple of adjustment are needed we didn’t have a WiFi signal when we stayed
We booked at Catahoula Hotel in New Orleans, LA on Union St. all the pictures we saw showed amazing views with decent rooms seemed perfect for our lil weekend getaway. We arrived at the hotel at 2 and was able to check in but was asked to come back at 3 to get our keys to allow for room cleaning. We came back at 3:15 and received our key. The room had a horrible odor and had not been cleaned since the last guest. We went back to the desk and the man brought us to 4 more rooms. First room was half cleaned, 2nd room had obvious construction going on inside of it at some point, 3rd room mattress was flipped half on and half off the bed and stuff was thrown everywhere, 4th still had people in it. We asked for a refund when we got into elevator the young man was embarrassed and stated no problem. It’s been 3 days and we are still waiting for our refund.
When I arrived to the property it looked like the hotel was closed. The lighting in the lobby area was dark and there was no one at the front desk. I walked over to see a small notes that said call this number to check in and had no answer, then called again to be told there is a problem happening in the building next door that all the employees had left the hotel which made me feel uncomfortable that they wouldn't disclose the issue. The man stated that he would be there in 20 minutes. After 20 minutes and not arriving i called again for the employee to show up 10 minutes later and kept changing the reasoning for the issue when we asked. First saying the building was going to blow up to that it was just a sewage issue and the rooms smell which made me not want to continue with my stay and cancel my reservation. Also when waiting i walked around the lobby to see that you could walk right back near the rooms which made me not like that there's zero security on the property. I think they scam people of their money since i never got a refund from them after being told i would get one since they wouldn't pick their phone up and wouldn't even communicate with the expedia reps.
The historic building was completely remodeled. Has elevators. Coffee and water in the lobby. Both bars/ restaurant not open. I tried to go to their website, no information on the bars or restaurant. Standard rooms don't have refrigerator or microwave. Bathroom sink is outside the bathroom which I thought was strange. It is walkable distance to everything and the beds are comfortable.if you aren't looking for the amenities, this is the place. It has a opening square patio passed the lobby where you and friends can have drinks and relax.

Service a little slow, shower broken,
internet not consistent. Not the best experience over all
Front desk was helpful but room was just not great. Was dirty, no shampoo, conditioner, only sheets on comforter, AC wasn’t working so bedroom was hot. Just a poor stay and left in the middle of the night.

We love staying at the catahoula but this experience wasn’t the best. We checked in and went to the room put it stuff down, used the restroom and then decided to leave to find dinner. When we got back to the room and realized the door was open and the bed was pulled back weirdly and there were random straws in the room. When we talked to the front desk they were pretty nice about it and moved us to another room that was nicer. Not a terrible experience but still not knowing why our room was unlocked and open was jarring.

The first room that we were put in there was mold in the bathroom on the ceiling, and the room smelled horrible. We then got switched to another room, and there was mold in the Air-conditioner, and the air conditioner leaked. No tv the whole stay either. I do not recommend this hotel.
Location was within walking distance of everything. Hotel was nice but...elevator was broken , had to use stairs every time,shower pressure was very low due to leak, tv never worked and a/c unit remote was hard to work so just turned off.
We never checked in. The guy at the front desk said they don’t have our reservation and that the owner of the hotel has changed. I am going to write Expedia support about that.
Someone bought a hotel without figuring out how to run it.
My reservation was made last year on hotels.com. During the interim, a new owner took it over WITHOUT TAKING OVER THE PRIOR RESERVATIONS. I checked in, not realizing they thought I was someone with the same last name. The elevator was broken, and the poor receptionist had to carry my 45-lb bag up 3 flights of stairs. I said a ground floor room would be ok but he checked and all of them had not been cleaned yet (this was 8 pm). Then 15 min later he told me I could stay one night but they had no vacancy for the other 3 nights I had reserved - during Mardi Gras and Valentine’s weekend. Thankfully hotels.com made things right by arranging for alternative accommodation without 2x the price. But I noticed I was not the only guest angry on the premises. Reserve a room here only if you enjoy gambling on whether the elevator works or if your reservation exists. Maybe call to make sure. The room was clean and decent though.
All the staff members that we had any contact with was very nice. Unfortunately the bar/ restaurant wasn't open, but we made do with what was around. I would stay here again
There should be an option for zero stars. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Expedia need to remove them from their site. There was no air conditioning in the apartment. We got two box fans and I’m still waiting to hear back from the General Manager. The elevator did not work. We got hand towels to dry off with after our shower. The staff did try to the best of their ability to make the stay pleasant but our issues were just beyond what they could do.
