The staff make this property a great place to stay and enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer. We had to spend a day sheltering at hotel during the recent Hurricane Francine warnings. The staff went out of their way to accommodate needs of guests.

Our stay at the Double Tree was nice. Check in was quick and easy especially the free chocolate chip cookies. The lobby offered water dispensers with lemonade or water with sliced lime, lemon and cucumbers which was very refreshing. It’s the perfect distance from and to the French Quarter, the Insectarium/Aquarium and everything on Canal. The room was a bit disappointing. It was awkward and cramped walking into the room. The AC vent at the room entrance leaked and we almost slipped on the floor trying to use the bathroom. We laid towels down, I told the young man at the front desk, he said he would send someone to take care of it but it leaked all 4 days we were there. I do wish the cleaning staff was more thorough. The tub had a few hairs in it before we showered luckily we brought Lysol wipes. There is an extremely stained chair and another seat in the room and should be thrown out. The beds were comfortable and overall the hotel was nice but marred by the room problems. Also, the down button on the elevator didn’t work. Guests had to maintain pressing the button so it would stay out of the elevator would never come. I do with the hotel bar stayed open past 11. The Hotels.com app won’t let me upload photos.

The bathroom caused the entire room to smell like sewage was backed up terribly. My wife and I both have been extremely ill with a viral/sinus infection since returning home. We should not have been put in this room. The hotel manager had her own rules when it came to the room we paid for thru hotel.com and affirm. Someone needs to look at that process and have just one. We were put through changes!!

Enjoyed our stay. It’s noisy meaning the walls are thin and they could stand to upgrade the rooms a bit. Overall it’s in a nice area and within walking distance to everything. The staff was really nice especially Lisa who was a housekeeping manager.
