Tired property

Property was in need of upkeep in rooms. Flooring under carpeting was uneven and loose. Air conditioning was not reliable and most doors were sticking. The property in general seemed tired and in need of refreshing.

We booked a balcony room which online seemed like it was on Burbon street. We ended up needing to upgrade during check in and only have 1 bed so our older father had to be on a roller bed. He had a very hard time getting out of it daily. The first night we were there, there were over three “false” fire alarms in the middle of the night. One of the elevators wasn’t working which made things get backed up. Walking back to hotel from Burbon street seemed very unsafe. Lobby was beautiful though. The coffee bar always seemed closed when we wanted to have some.

The room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel is located close to the main tourist spots in New Orleans. The only downside was that there was a false fire alarm at ~3:00 am, due to “painting” around the elevator. The bad part of this was that the original “all clear” could not be heard and there were no staff posted at the stairs to direct folks back to their rooms.

All snacks closed…no convenience purchase store, one vending machine didn’t all purchase because it was asking for a letter and number purchase which the machine didn’t even have so we had to walk from 430 to 470 to purchase a coke, then one of the two ice machines did not work so we had to go from one end of the floor to another for ice that was not even frozen very well. The elevators were all messed up and either were not working or took forever to wait for service. The numbering system forgot the rooms do not make sense. The lobby was chilly while sitting to wait for our Uber or even just to walk through. Online implies there was a way to wash your own laundry but it’s actually a highly expensive laundry service. At least 3 times what we have paid in other areas, ver misleading. It would have been cheaper to keep my rental car another day and pay for valet service then and do my own laundry so the cost is absolutely ridiculous. The upside, the place is clean and the bed was comfortable.
