Kind of on the edge of the French Quarter makes for a peaceful stay. Pool area is lovely and the bar is a cozy & classy place to sit. Balcony rooms are worth the small upcharge!

Location and Pool were great, everything else meh

Pool area was perfect and relaxing. Location was great. Everything else was meh. Our room slanted so much that our luggage would roll from the window to the door if left unattended. The hotel uses digital keys on your phone that worked about 75% of the time. Was pretty annoying not knowing if it would work or not. Housekeeping had to let us in. Front desk was very friendly but there was a long wait whenever we needed something bc there was only one person working.

Jazzfest 2025 Stay - AMAZING!

Second time staying here for Jazzfest. LOVE the location. We prefer Frenchman, it’s about a 3 minute walk there. Great coffee/breakfast spot around the corner. Close to the French Market. $16 Uber ride to the fairgrounds for Jazzfest. Clean hotel. Great staff. Small fridge in the room. Verti Marte is a block away and has the best spicy muffaletta. Will keep coming back!

This hotel was amazing value given its French quarter location. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. No breakfast but complimentary teas and coffees were greatly appreciated.

Mold & Mildew

We had a very disappointing experience with our stay back in April. We had an issue with mold and mildew in our room which progressively made my wife ill. We kept our blinds/drapes closed in the room because we were on the first floor facing the street and parking lot of the hotel and didn't realize the mold and mildew on the upper outer wall until we opened the drapes the morning we were to depart. We took pictures and showed the issue to the staff that was working at the front desk and they said they would be willing to give a refund on the room but couldn't do anything until we reached out to Hotel.com which is the company that secured the reservation for us. We explained the issue with Hotel.com and they reached out to Le Richelieu staff were not able to get anything resolved. I personally reached out to the hotel via their website for the last 2 weeks and have heard nothing in response to my situation. This is very unfortunate especially because we stay at this Hotel when we are in New Orleans, we also have spoken very highly of Le Richelieu to friends and family.

Beautiful Hotel

Everyone was extremely kind and helpful with very quick response to requests. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. We were also surprised at how quiet it is considering the area.

Substandard but Historical

Not especially clean, TV didn't work, short on amenities, average place with a great location. Staff wasn't very welcoming or accommodating. It's "historic" so the floors creek, sounds echo, you can hear everyone from the hall close their doors and talk while awaiting the elevator, the pool and lounge area were nice but the interior balcony views have an abandoned lot as an eyesore. The doors have digital keys that are only accessable through their slow website. We won't be staying here again.

This is my fourth stay at this property, obviously it’s a satisfactory experience. Best part, they offer off street parking for $45…so your car is off the street safe. Self park on property, not valet. Best kept secret. There is a small enjoyable breakfast spot just behind the hotel called “Envie”. Homemade biscuits, eggs … and other hot foods. The bacon & biscuits were exquisite. All made to order. If you want pastries, croissants or sandwiches….this is your go to. Delicious The rooms are new, simple, comfortable, tile floors, a valuable safe, mini fridge….and wonderful bed to accommodate from those long French Quarter walks. It’s off the beaten path…still in the French Quarter…but away from the hustle of Bourbon Street. Amazing staff, Becky, Marisol …all exceptional hospitality stars. Thank you for another stay !!!!

I lovingly referred to our hotel as “ghostly”, meaning it had an old New Orleans vibe. The only challenge was the room needed a microwave for heating up leftovers. A small microwave was provided at poolside.

The pre-checking is not worth it. You spend a lot of time doing it only to have to wait at the lobby anyway to check in again. It took a while. The front desk service is great and the hotel is kitschy and cute. The room is well laid out and clean, also spacious. The hotel is located in a good location in downtown NOLA.

The honeymoon sweet is very large considering the older style of hotel. Rooms were very clean, comfy bed, large shower. Hotel is closer to French street and French Market which makes it nice and quiet. Bourbon St. is about 20 minute walk. Everything is walking distance and Uber is easy to get. Gladly stay again.
