Very good sized Frenchman Suite. Very Private and Quiet. Walking distance to the French Quarter. The only bad is that the overall cleanliness could have been better. Outdoor poolside tables were dirty, in room dryer drum and vent filled with lint/dust. Area rugs are in need of replacement. Shower missing faucet knob.

The property is fun since it is an old historic building, but that comes with its own quirks. Upon check-in with Jasmine, we were given one of the Napolean rooms, but it did not look like the one online. It was a very large room, but it did not have enough lighting from the light fixtures or from natural light either. The room was good enough for us, but we had bigger issues the next day without any hot water in the shower. The manager at that time, Emily, was the highlight of our stay at the Melrose mansion. She taught us how to open the front door, which we were not informed about when we checked in, and she was incredibly friendly, finding a solution to our lack of hot water. We were able to move rooms into a smaller room, the burgundy room, but this room had much better, lighting and hot water! Overall had a relatively good experience, but I would recommend trying to find the best room to stay in since it seems like each room has its own quirks. Also, depending on your room location, it is quieter based on where it is on the property from noise inside as well as outside (I recommend bringing earplugs and an eye mask). The hotel location was perfect for our needs and very walkable to the Mardi Gras parades and Frenchman Street.

Great local. Steps from the quarter and staddling Fenchman/Marigny area. It is in an over hundred year old mansion, so sound somewhat carries but fou d the heating and a/c pretty good. Cozy and comfy bed and bedding. Manager was very kind to let me store luggage as my flight was a late departure. Missed the breakfast, but mynroom with a jetted tub was lovely!!

Great walkability.

Jason set the tone and gave us a very warm welcome. Checked us in into our room 2.5 hours early even tho we did not request an early check in. Welcomed with a bottle of bubbly and a list of things to do. The property is very walkable yet quiet at night. The only negative is for some reason the facility seems to think only one person stays. Only one wash cloth, one bathrobe etc. Room replenishment requests thru the text app did not seem to make any impact. The only way we could get the appropriate amount of linens and get coffee restocked was to write a note and leave it with a tip. Daily housecleaning was minimal at best. Sarah on the evening shift will point you to all the best places and will know for sure if you had a good time. Would def stay here again!

No hot water during our stay, no assistance carrying bags up the stairs, as we checked out we asked about the posted gift of wine which we weren’t given (they then gave us a bottle), and the steps going in on the night of arrival were wicked scary icy!! Parking lot was not available and street parking was two hour parking only. Check in staff encouraged us to just park there. At checkin, staff were not sure if a room was left, told us we don’t get hot water, no place to eat and she wasn’t sure we would get the advertised breakfast in the morning. We were not offered any other accommodations and it is highly unlikely that Hotels.com will give us any refund or discounted rate for our stay.
