The comfort and convenience was excellent however the surprise was the bill. We did sign up for a Room Upsale but at check in we were told that those charges would be waived. We were charged $75 total. We were supposed to have 2 free drinks each day but were charged. We did not ask for these bonuses but we were told they would be waived. We (wife and myself) appreciated the gesture but were disappointed when we later reviewed the invoice.

This is a bare bones hotel, and the pictures are misleading and not representative of the reality. My credit card was compromised at Royal Sonesta and I’m still dealing with my bank through their fraud department to recoup $3K of expenditures made by someone associated with the hotel. Scary to have no credit card while on vacation. Also, we found the safe on our last day of a stay of 5, there were no extra blankets and when asking for them, were told ‘no, turn up your AC’. Make sure you list every single individual staying in the room with the front desk so if your room key card should happen to be deactivated early by the hotel, every individual can get a new card. My name was not listed, and I had to wait hours for the issue to be resolved after getting locked out of my room. Unhelpful staff, understaffed, and less than trustworthy staff.

I will preface this with saying I was not fully understanding of the bourbon st reputation even in the "off-season" the hotel was beautifully appointed inside but sadly as is the state of our current world situation homelessness was ver apparent on the exterior. The staff of the hotel was wonderfully accommodating and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, the side st balcony was very nice. The night life of bourbon st was at all times evident, if you cant sleep with noise this is not the place for you. We never felt unsafe but as I'm older and not a partier i felt out of my element. I would highly recommend the hotel if you want to enjoy bourbon st for all its known for.
