I liked how the front desk was very kind and nice , the only thing that I did not like was we only had like 5 working channels while someone else that I know that stayed at the same hotel had cable and kids channels, also couldn’t connect to wifi on my daughters tablet or mine, I thought that fell under the amenities but didn’t even benefit from it.

I loved my stay at the Fontenot. Staff is exceptional. Cleaning is great. You can tell there's an active effort to maintain the hotel, which is great to see. The hotel is rather lovely and quite charming. The local area however is definitely mixed bag. It's perfectly safe and beautiful during morning and peak sunlight hours. Beyond that, it's just more of a hand toss. Like if you're a lady, it's probably best to avoid solo walks outside at night. Call an Uber to and from the Hotel lobby.

Overall I am a fan of Kimpton properties. They generally all have the same modern vibe so if that's what you're looking for - this place is for you. The hotel is pet friendly with no additional fee which is super nice if you travel with your furry friends. They have a happy hour which was a nice touch and the beds were 10/10 for comfort. There was a 5k going on the weekend we stayed and could hear everything - there is some street noise that travels so if you are a light sleeper maybe pack some ear plugs. You can easily walk to Bourbon St or the French Quarter & you have a ton of great food options in the immediate vicinity.

Southern Decadence Week - Amazing Stay

It was AMAZING. Kimpton properties always are. This property was exceptional. We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor corner upon arrival because of our loyalty. The staff exceeded our expectations. The room was PERFECT. The restaurants superb. I can not say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay ... and we were walking distance to almost everything.

I definitely liked the "vibe" , ambiance and decor of the hotel. However, there was issue with the water temperature. This morning while taking a shower my husband and I noticed the water was Not hot and never got hot at all. Therefore, we had to take a cool, cold shower which was not very pleasant. I wanted to call to front desk to report the water issue but due to us having to catch a early flight, I didn't have time. Other than this complaint, the stay would have been great.

3/5 Comfortable stay, but a few issues

My stay at the Kimpton Hotel was okay overall. The room was clean and the hotel had a nice boutique vibe, which I appreciated. The bed was comfortable, and the space felt welcoming and large. That said, there were a few issues that took away from the experience. The TV wouldn’t connect to smart devices, which made it hard to stream anything. I also asked about a place to warm up food and was told a microwave would be brought to the room but it never came. When I followed up, I was told there were none available. Lastly, the shower had a serious leak that left water all over the bathroom floor every day. Aside from these problems, the stay was decent. I think with a few fixes to the amenities and communication, the experience could have been much better.
