Bedbugs. Beware.

In the first room, huge dust bunnies around the base of the bed, with lots previous tenant's hair. While off-putting, not a deal breaker. Pulling back the sheet, the mattress (no mattress cover) was speckled with blood, a sign of bedbugs. We reported it to a very efficient front desk, who came up with engineering to see for themselves. The front desk person audibly gasped when she saw the state of the room. We moved to a second room. It warranted a close look, where we found blood signs at the base of the headboard. They graciously allowed us to cancel the reservation and we stayed in another hotel. To be clear, every hotel (at every star level) battles bedbugs. My advice is to make sure you check for them in whatever location you choose.

Meh, not coming back

This was my second stay here with my husband, and I’m not going to be coming back. The place is cute and has kind of a funky (in a good way), yuppie vibe. But the bed is too soft and terribly uncomfortable, a/c is noisy, fan is noisy, bedding was not clean (huge, nasty stain on one of the pillows), tub didn’t drain well at all. And overall it was just ok.

There was hair in the shower (a ball of breaded hair), a little blood spot on the bed which didn't have fitted sheets, and along the whole bottom of the window sill had about an inch and a half of mold!

Loved my stay with old 77, the walk was pretty decent for the quiteness it offered. Close to a lot of places. Would definitely come back here on my future NOLA trips. However if theres one thing i have to say, its the parking. God damn it was it expensive for 2 days. But i guess thats how it goes. No complaints about the property itself. If you ever get the chance to eat at compere lapin, please do. And say hi to both summer and toray! They were both really nice.
