It was great. It’s an old building so the walls were quite thin but we just wore ear plugs. The only down fall was the bar is ran by the front desk. Some didn’t want to bartend so they left the bar closed. Great stay over all
This was a great property with great location! Comfy beds and nice linens. There were a couple of little things that were irritating but definitely wouldn’t keep me from staying here again. Firstly, the thermostat was difficult for me to run. Couldn’t figure out how to change the set temp, so we just kept going from cool to heat when it would get to one extreme. Secondly, there is no outlet in the bathroom to plug in my hair tools. I used a mirror outside the bathroom with the small side table to hold my hair dryer/curling iron. Lastly, the television had a glitch where we had to reboot it once each day in order for it to work right. Not a terrible inconvenience, but just a weird annoying thing that kept happening. Other than that, it was great!
Very nice hotel, very clean rooms. Friendly staff. It is located close to French Quoters and very noisy, I would consider location next time, could not sleep at night
Hotel was perfect! Perfect location and room was clean and efficient! Only thing I did not like was being told before I arrived that it would only be $55 for my whole stay, but when I got there it was $55 per night.
Our air conditioner wouldn't work, checked in at 4pm and it was 81 degrees in the room, went and talked to the man at the front desk and he saod he ahd tonreset something and to give it a hour, went to dinner 5:15pm and came back at at 7:30pm and the temperature had dropped to 79 degrees and complained again they was told they'd move us to a different if it had dropped by the time came back from the concert. Came back from the concert at 11pm and it was 77 degrees in the room. Complained yet again and finally was moved to a much smaller room. Also while we we're requesting a room chnage the night security guard was trying to get involved and was just making things worse with her attitude towards me and my girlfriend. We will probably not be staying there again.
The hotel staff were absolutely amazing. However, our AC didn't work correctly so the room was rather toasty. Also (and this has nothing to do with the hotel itself) our trip fell on a weekend that coincided with a concert, a NFL game and 2 cruise lines departing. The hotel os right on the corner of an extremely busy intersection. The party goers were extremely obnoxious and rude. Again, this part has nothing to do with the hotel, but decided to include it incase you are not the party type (like us).
The rooms were great....but no extra blankets in room, not a single bar of soap, and some of the bathroom fixtures were loose. The worst part was the ambient noise 24/7 from the street!
My colleague and I had a delightful stay here. The hotel is a beautiful renovation of a historic retail location, it’s clear that the transition from retail and offices to hotel was done with care, retaining many original elements while adding tasteful modern touches. Conveniently located and quite reasonably priced- I would definitely stay again!
The Rubenstein Hotel is a GREAT STAY! Very quiet and close to all the excitement. Being right on the corner of Canal and St. Charles makes it IDEAL for experiencing all the New Orleans ambience.
I was very impressed with the whole layout of the hotel. When I arrived, checking in was a little hecticI did not know where to park to unload and no visible sign to say main entrance. After getting over that part, I must say, the clerk, David at the desk was very, very helpful and courteous. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and will stay again when I visit New Orleans.
Overall, the Rubenstein Hotel is located in the heart of New Orleans, right off of Canal Street and steps away from Bourbon Street. For the price, this place was a steal. It is a small, boutique hotel that has clean and spacious rooms. It sits right above the Rubenstein men's clothing store. The bed and pillows were probably the most comfortable things I have ever slept on. While you don't have a view, I was perfectly fine with that. I felt safe and comfortable. The Rubenstein is just down the street from the conference hotel (Marriott/Sheraton), and I probably spent 1/3 the price.
Also, a special shout out to David, the manager, who went above and beyond to give me a pillow as a souvenir. I will definitely be back when we have our conference again in New Orleans. Thank you!
This hotel has so much potential to be great. I love the concept and the decor. Service personnel that were present were really nice and helpful but it always seemed like only one person was working in the hotel. We made a reservation for three people but only had towels in the room for two. The telephone is the room does not work so you have to go downstairs to make a request.
The front desk person could not give us more towels and we had to wait for housekeeping the next morning. After requesting again the next morning, it took over an hour for us to get the towels. Also, someone broke the railing on our floor the first night we were there, and we informed the front desk, but no one came to remove it or clean up the area during our entire stay.
With a few changes and additional staff, this hotel could be top tier.
Service was definitely below average, indifferent and lacking. With the exception of the bartender (personable and knowledgeable), the young front desk staff were not friendly or welcoming. When checking out, I inquired if I could leave my bags with the front desk until I returned later to go to the airport. The young man on duty said he wasn’t feeling well and gave me the key to open a storage room. Didn’t get up to lead me to the room or offer to assist, just verbally directed while sitting down and playing on his phone. Coffee and coffee cups were out, and despite being informed, did not make a fresh pot as was advertised.
