I'm torn between giving a 4 or 5 star rating because our room was very nice. Bed was comfy, big tv, a/c works great, very nice shower( but no shelves in the shower go figure) But, and this is the killer, the Windows are old and had gaps between the upper and lower that I had to use one of the towels to fill up to help keep some noise out.
Our room faced canal st. And you could hear every loud car go by, almost like being outside. I can only say for our room that it was loud, it timed down after midnight and we were able to sleep fine.
The staff was very nice as well. The hall to get to our room was, well, odd. Had to go up some stairs to get to our room on the 3rd floor. Just kind of weird layout.
Again the room was very nice, we'd stay again but ask for a room overlooking the side street.
Location couldn't be any better, you're a block away from Bourbon St. There was only a couple homeless guys sleeping outside in the morning....
