Property was very dark throughout. I get it that it’s a decorative mood thing but it was too dark in the lobby and hallways. Who knows if it’s clean when you can’t see it? How can housekeeping know if they cleaned thoroughly if they can’t even see? Travis emailed me about payment before checkin. I called him back because I was in Mexico on a cruise to explain I couldn’t email him back at that time. Girl who answered was rude and wouldn’t let me talk directly to him and demanded to know the reason for my call then proceeded to NOT listen to a word I said.

Hotel lobby is beautiful, but belies the average to below average accommodations (standard king) on the higher floors. Our room was so dark; window looked out onto a side of the neighboring building and did not allow for much light, not to mention the awful "view." The room was cleaned daily, but not with attention to any detail. The carpet had crumbs from early in our stay until the day we departed and the toilet had strange rust stains and scratch marks in the bottom of the bowl that made it appear dirty even when cleaned. It's also worth mentioning that the floor in the shower is very smooth, hence, very slippery. Not an issue for us but still annoying and not good for anyone that's drunk, disabled, or assisting young children. The room doors on our floor (5th) slam shut. Loudly. All day and all night, slamming. However, the hotel overall is quieter (from the outside) than those on Boubon and still in a great location for walking everywhere. The worst thing about this hotel was the massively uncomfortable bed. The mattress looked and felt like it was old and worn out - hard as a rock and stained. We didn't sleep well the entire time we were there. This is a significant reason for my 2 star rating. Staff was consistently polite and did accommodate a request for late check out after our flight home was delayed. All in all, I would not recommended this as a comfortable stay.

I loves the hotel but was disappointed with kids staying. The one of many other reasons I choose this hotel, is that it promoted originally 23 and over but when we got there, we found out that Marriott bought it and changed it for kids to stay. I don't think this hotel is appropriate for kids. However, overall, we enjoyed our stay.

After a long day of travel the staff was able to give us an early check in and it made a world of difference. The room was perfect and they fixed an issue with the tv in less than 5 minutes. Beds were great and we even returned to the same hotel a week later to ask them to get us a cab as we were on a cruise. The gentleman went across the street just to make sure we were on time. Great staff. Great experience.

The Saint is just fine. The morning dining room is stale and stark. The pretty red bar is closed off all day with a curtain. The valet takes an extremely long time to retrieve cars- probably 30-45 minutes each time, despite hardly any guests. That said, it is right in Canal street and the room was fine. It’s definitely not the glamorous Saint from before the ownership change, but a passable place to stay.
