This Westin has the questionable practice of charging a $30/day “destination fee”. They tell the patron you will be charged $30/day but you have a $30/day credit to use in the hotel. Sounds like a way to get you to use their food and beverage service Problem is everything is expensive. You end up spending more than $30 to try and use your $30/day fee.

We had a wonderful stay at The Westin New Orleans for our honeymoon. They kindly upgraded us to an incredible suite with a view over the Mississippi River. Couldn't recommend it enough. Clean, well appointed and super close to the centre of town.

Everything is within a 10-15 minute walk and the streetcar and bus stop is right across the street. Food at the hotel was very good. Bed was super comfortable! All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again! If you do a walking tour of the French Quarter, I recommend doing a morning tour as we did one in the afternoon and it was very noisy in some areas to where we couldn’t hear the tour guide. All in all it was a fun trip!

There was a freight train that goes by the hotel at least three times a night. I was on the 26th floor facing the water and it kept my son and I up all night. They gave us a $40 voucher to use for breakfast the last day because of that And they never even credited us for the amount of money
