The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the doormen! The complimentary wine happy hour was a perfect way to unwind in between Broadway shows. My room was spacious and comfortable, the rain shower was relaxing after a long day exploring the streets of New York. I would definitely stay at the Ameritania again.

Good Option For Business Travel
Really good bang for your buck in Manhattan. I’ve stayed at some nice places in NYC, and some very bad places, and this is one of the better properties in midtown. It’s an older hotel that has been totally remodeled, and for the most part it was very nice. Staff was friendly and the location is almost unbeatable if you have biz in the area.

Absolutely beautiful place. No expense was spared in the decor and artistic direction of this hotel. It was cohesive and modern. When I initially entered I noticed right away that this place smells AMAZING. Like luxurious cashmere perfume,but airy and not at all cloying. When I saw the wonderfully luxe Gallivant (French perfumerie)grooming products provided in the bathroom I could confirm that this place appreciates it's fine fragrance. The lobby bar is the standout. Big minimalist velvet couches flank a sleek fireplace. During the day fresh fruit and Ice water were provided,whoch we appreciated. In the morning,there was coffee as well. The door staff and front desk as well as housekeeping were friendly and helpful. C My only gripes are with the terribly designed shower and key cards which didn't work too well,but were replaced with no problem. I felt secure knowing that one needed a key card to use the elevator to reach the rooms. The showers (apparently theyre all this way?) Only has half a barrier/wall where one would expect a sliding or pocket door. I was constantly worrying about making a mess. Again,the products were super luxurious. They leaned masculine but I used everything and smelled delicious! I wouldnt let the shower stop me from staying here again. I look forward to the opportunity and you should definitely check it out if you're considering a trip to the theater district!

Housekeeping bang the doors early in the morning making it super noisy. Sink in the bathroom was clogged and toilet was not working properly. Room keys were really annoying because we had to continuously go to front desk to get them reactivated. One of the elevator broke down which was very inconvenient.

The staff and the location are amazing! It is walking distance to almost anything near time square, central park and more. The property is a little outdated, rooms very small, beds small (doubles barely). The washroom was difficult to move in and leaked onto the bathroom floor with every shower. We needed 5 or 6 towels to soak up the water. The staff was quick to bring up the needed supplies though. Like most NYC hotels the windows were thin and old and you could here everything on the street. It seemed we sacrificed quality for the location which is second to none! They did have a resort fee of $20 per day when they had no extra amenities. I asked them what it was for and they said it for coffee and tee and wifi (even thought the wifi was advertised as free) Overall I would probably not stay here again but my family did enjoy our vacation in the BIG APPLE
