I chose this hotel as it was close to Times Square and had valet parking as I didn't want to worry about parking in New York City. When we first arrived, the valet parking already had a car in the designated area. My daughter went into the hotel to tell them that we arrived and that we were parked down the street. The lady at the front desk told her to put the provided parking tag on our dashboard and they'll go get my car shortly and in meantime we can go and bring our luggage inside. This is why it was very upsetting to find I received a parking ticket once I retrieved my car after our stay. When I advised Kenny (Assistant General Manager) about the ticket & asked for a reimbursement as we only left our vehicle on the road due to their instructions, he advised he would investigate it & get back to me “shortly”. This was on September 4th. After a few attempts to reach out to him for an update, he never responded. I reached out to IHG head office & unfortunately they are not able to help as each hotel is individually owned/managed. After numerous attempts for IHG to reach out to Candlewood to help have this resolved, I finally got an email from Kenny on October 1st (almost 1 month!) advising they would not reimburse me for the ticket. They didn't take any accountability for the fact that I only left my car unattended due to their instructions. Other issues at hotel: only 1 elevator working causing long wait times; dead cockroaches in basement; phone not work; wifi slow.

Front staff was pleasant and helpful. No ice machine in the entire hotel, so staff went out to get ice. The heating and cooling unit was nonfunctioning. Mattress on the pull out sofa was completely stained and gross. Both TVs were almost impossible to watch because of static, Room phone to call front desk didn’t even have buttons to press, so it was nonfunctioning. We walked to the closest CVS to buy Lysol wipes to clean the room and slept on top of the covers with our own blankets from home. If the hotel even had ice we couldn’t get it because our ice bucket completely cracked at the bottom.

This place is great for your last minute. Good bank for your money. Wyndham hotel cancel my reservation because my card was canceled. I forgot to update it. We had not arrived to New York. At Tampa Airport i called this hotel , i had kitchenette, bed was comfortable. Must stay

For the area the room was decent sized (it's midtown Manhattan, so have reasonable expectations). The bed was comfortable and WiFi was okay. The bathroom was fairly large, again for the area. The water pressure was lacking in the shower, and the curtain rod was one of those odd curved ones that some hotel's seem to use which doesn't allow the shower curtain to go from end to end, resulting in water spraying onto the floor. The room and hotel wasn't nightmarishly dirty like some horror stories you will hear, but it could have been cleaner.

Eduardo was very helpful with an early check in, and the housekeeping team set up a cute display on the bed for us which was very sweet. Location is very convenient if you are attending many events at MSG or around times square, but the area is very busy with some characters about. It's not a very relaxing area where you can comfortably take a stroll and explore. The room is fine, does the job. The kitchenette and bathroom were all clean and functional. Only one side of the bed had a side table. The laundry downstairs has powerful machines, we brought our own detergent sheets and did a couple loads throughout our stay which was convenient. Proper housekeeping is only done once a week but you can put trash outside your door daily and they'll take care of it. They weren't great at providing new bags for us to line the bins with though, even when we could notice that someone had been in the room to refresh towels or make the bed. The elevators are slow, but it was fine. I was unable to connect my phone to the wifi for most of our stay, but I didn't flag this with reception.

Front desk people especially Eduardo was very friendly and helpful as was the other girl on the desk. Aircon was difficult to operate especially after they had serviced it. The room was ok but a bit smelly. Location was a bit dodgy but no problems. All in all we found people in New York friendly and courteous in the main which was the same with the hotel staff.

The hotel was good and the staff very good but most of the time only 1 elevator was working and so wait times could be long. Also the fact that you have to tell them when you need toilet paper and any other amenities, such as getting rid of the garbage from your room.

Good location in walking distance and access to public transport links to attractions. Basic accommodation. Would benefit from clothes rail, wardrobe and makeup mirror. Kitchen accessories very basic for a studio. Customer service took 2 days to replenish bathroom items. Would probably look for a better rated accommodation next time.
