Our check-in experience at this hotel was disappointing due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of the front desk staff, specifically an employee named L*z. As tourists unfamiliar with New York’s tricky parking rules, we asked for guidance on where to park. L*z initially provided some information, but the parking signs were confusing. When my sister sought clarification, L*z responded rudely, saying, “I already told her,” referring to me, instead of simply helping us again. What made matters worse was what happened next. While we were unloading our luggage, my sister-in-law remained in the lobby and overheard L*z talking to her coworker, mocking us. She said we “don’t even know how to read” and implied we were too cheap to pay for parking, despite the fact that we were only trying to understand the rules. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. A hotel’s front desk should be welcoming and helpful, not dismissive and condescending to guests who simply need assistance. L*z’s behavior left a bad impression, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel based on their lack of basic customer service and respect.
