Great hotel

Hotel was great Carlos at the front stay was very welcoming and gave us a list of recommendations to eat at. Room was clean and nice. Overall I left satisfied with my stay at the Truss.

The tv is old, not smart tv with colour and clarity distorted. Internet access was poor and often unavailable. The room had no window access so very dark and gloomy. Very basic rooms. Definitely at most a 3 star.

Unacceptable Experience and Disappointing Stay

The hotel was disappointing in several aspects. The overall condition appeared rundown; the rooms were passable but could have benefited from more thorough cleaning. The hallways had an unpleasant odor, and the carpets are in need of replacement. Additionally, the noise levels from outside were disruptive, with sounds from traffic, horns, firetrucks, and people throughout the hotel. Upon checkout, we approached the front desk to arrange transportation to the airport. The staff initially claimed they could provide a driver at a lower rate than our booked Uber, which was $100. We were later contacted and informed that the hotel’s service would cost $60, and we agreed to this arrangement. However, when the driver arrived, we were unexpectedly told it would be $145. This discrepancy, along with the delay and apparent lack of transparency, was both frustrating and unacceptable. Overall, despite our enjoyment of New York City, our experience at this property was disappointing, and I would not consider staying here again or recommending it to others.

The staff was very helpful and very friendly! They were very eager to offer suggestions and answer our many questions! The bed was super comfy. Our negative would be that there was not a lot of food options near by. You had to walk over to time square which tended to get crazy and expensive. However, being from Oregon we were expecting that. New Yorkers get a bad rap for being rude, but everyone we meet and came across seemed so nice and the exact opposite!

Lastly, I was not satisfied with this hotel due to cleanliness (walls dirty), no amenities, no rooftop no lobby area, no bar, an obstructive view. The hotel only goes to the 4th level, no coffee available in the rooms or breakfast available for guest. No working tv channels and the channels that were available you couldn’t see, the resolution was red and blurred and most channels wouldn’t show at all. The bed was very low to the floor, uncomfortable, with very little walking room between beds and because of the spacing, I injured my left leg not once but twice. (Photo attached big green bruise). The shower and bathroom rusted. I booked this room “pay later at the location” and instead the hotel debited my account two days prior without notification. This was not communicated to me at any time and had I not received a fraudulent alert from my bank, I would’ve been stranded with no place to stay in NYC bc the hotel clerk stated they wouldn’t have been able to hold my room without full payment even though it was booked to pay later at the location. Very deceiving and unprofessional. The only staff members that was very nice and I would like to say thank you for your hospitality, is Jess and Shavon. Although this hotel was not what I expected and was recommended, you were amazing. Best of Luck to you both!

The staff were very helpful, nice and friendly. Always said good morning and asked if we needed any help. The location was perfect. The beds were super comfortable and it had a lot of space for a hotel room in New York. I will definitely stay there again when I’m in town.

We found mold in our room on our last day and we had informed the front desk and they responses were that we should have let them know prior. If I had catched the issue prior I wouldn’t have stayed.
