I would certainly return to Truss Hotel. I was a little nervous, reading some mixed reviews, on what to expect but the staff were lovely, the room was clean, rooms serviced daily, comfy beds, hot powerful shower, toiletries, everything we needed. The rooftop terrace was a bonus. We have stayed at the New Yorker before and whilst that is decorated to a higher standard, has dining facilities etc., for the amount of time you actually spend in the hotel (one day we were out at 6.30am and didn’t return until 10pm) what the Truss provides is great at a much cheaper price. Great location with subway stations close by too. Would definitely recommend and return if we find ourselves in NY again

TERRIBLE! This was advertised as an upscale/4star property near Times Square. It was not upscale nor even mid-scale and bordered Hells Kitchen. I have to question the authenticity of the guest ratings that were posted. The room we had was advertised as being a 2 bathroom suite but only one bathroom had a shower, the other just a sink & toilet. There was virtually no light in the main living room and the blinds were thin, warn & dirty. The chain on the large blind broke the first day. The carpet outside our very expensive suite was torn up & shredded. When reported to management they said “thank you for letting us know” & did nothing about it the 6 days we were there. The “gym” in the basement had a ceiling that was damaged & falling in. The damage was being caught by large trash bins that were filled with water & debris that were never emptied or tended to the entire time we were there. The only ice maker was broken with no solution or mitigation offered. Do your homework on this property if you are seriously considering booking it. We would have gone to another property if anything reasonable was available during the Christmas season.

Hotel was old and small. Bed and pillows were not comfortable. TV and furnitures are old. Needs a renovation. Far from everything. Needed to pay for luggage storage, unlike with other hotels in NYC that are free.

Front desk personnel was super friendly, attentive, professional & helpful. The rooms are smaller than looks in photos. The bathroom was not cleaned as should. There is no bathroom fan vent, causing lots of humidity. The water pressure of shower was excessive to the point that water was coming out of shower area and there was black mold along the sides of shower.

The hotel is just a short walk to Times Square. We also walked back from the Rockefeller Centre too. The bus station in right outside which also connect to the subway. The staff in the hotel were all very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and all were very helpful. The room was cleaned everyday, and the maids were also lovely.

Room was typical NYC size, shower no tub, great location for us. (Family of 4, parents with a 15 & 12 yr old) would consider again, room temp didn’t seem extremely comfortable but was decent. No real complaint, did have a nice roof top view.

Smooth check-in but safe was missing from room. Raised this with reception and told one would be sorted next day (no apology). Great given we were only staying 2 nights. Towels not refreshed and bed not made. Reception staff not helpful when issues raised. Have stayed before but not again.

Clean but it lacks certain things . We booked this hotel partially because there was a shower hose in the bathroom, which is handy when showering kids. The switch in our room was broken. We communicated it to the front desk, but the issue wasn’t resolved and we were not offered a different room. The blankets are not warm enough. In the bathroom, it seemed like colking was used to cover/seal black spots.
