This property was quaint and very clean. The front desk staff were so nice and helpful. There is no elevator and they carried our luggage up 3 flights and refused a tip. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. It was very warm in the room and there was no way to control the temp and the outlet in the bathroom did not work. Otherwise it was a great stay for an overnight in a convenient location.

Great stay for a great price. You are able to check in early and leave your bags for a small fee, which is extremely convenient for traveling. Rooms are larger than the pictures show, would recommend!

For a NY hotel, to find one with a private bathroom, a bit of space, and coffee downstairs is a rare thing indeed! Rooms have a cool vibe and feel new and clean. You can’t get much closer to the metro or the Chelsea Market. Good neighborhood and friendly staff. I will stay again!

My 17 year old daughter and I stayed here for her grad gift trip. The hotel does not have an elevator as clearly stated so you do have to climb quite steep stairs to your room which was fine with us. The hotel is old but the attentive staff keep it very clean. The rooms are small but very “New York” as expected. There are window air conditioner units that we left on all day to cool our room then shut off overnight as they are a little noisy. The beds were comfortable and we loved the area. The subway is right on the corner, there’s lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance and don’t miss walking the High Line park!! If you want to start your day with a healthy smoothie go to Juice Generation across the street then walk to Blank Street coffee and bring your coffee back to sit in the lovely atrium or garden in the back of the hotel. We’d definitely stay again!! It was affordable and well kept, exactly what we needed since we only spent 8 - 9 hours a day there!

Great food options, everything from coffee shops to late night eats. Extremely close to the subway and easy walks to Midtown and Greenwich Village. The staff were so friendly and available if anything was needed. Room had AC, bed was comfortable and the size was great for two people with carry on. We opted to purchase the early check in and even went to the Chelsea Market with our suitcases before checking in. Any of the complaints about noise and stairs - it’s NYC, wear ear plugs and get your steps in.

We have stayed in Chelsea Pines before in April 2023 in a small double room. It was small but clean and there was a nice continental breakfast with seating on outside patio. Service was excellent then as it was on our last visit in Sep 2024. This time however, we rented the large apartment downstairs with its own private patio. When we arrived we found the kitchen very under stocked. One wine glass, one martini glass, 2 champagne glasses, 3 large beer mugs and some coffee cups. But no regular drinking glasses. I asked for some but was told they didn’t have any. There was no ice maker and no ice trays. The office let me borrow an ice tray from their kitchen. Coffee pot but no coffee filters. We went out and bought some coffee and again took some filters from the staff kitchen. Found out first morning that there was no longer any breakfast service. But the worst thing was I’m not sure when the floors were last mopped. Beautiful wood floors but our feet were filthy after walking around for a few minutes without shoes. Housekeeping came in daily but never mopped the floors. Very disappointed this time. We love NYC and will be back but will find new accommodations.
