Water was hot and pressure was good. Very convenient location. First floor room feels either like a fish bowl, or a cave, since to not be constantly overlooked by the people sitting on benches across the street outside the building, the single pull shades have to be all the way down, and don’t allow ambient light. Some sheers or simple curtains would solve the problem, letting in daylight. Doors could also be thicker, as you can hear everything happening the the hallway.

i’d recommend getting a bigger TV. after a long day in the city watching a movie to relax is ideal. A 32 inch is too small. overall pretty good experience just a little noisy but it’s nyc

A good place to stay

Our stay was good and location was good. We did avoid the main door for about 15-20 minutes one evening because someone was banging on it and trying to get in. He looked suspicious and we didn’t want to have him try to follow us in the door. A couple minor things that could easily be addressed are a shelf in the shower, more hooks to hang towels and robes in the bathroom and regular hangers. There were 2 regular hangers and the rest were for pants, coats and jackets don’t hang well on those. It rained most of our stay so we had wet clothes to hang up. We don’t spend much time in our room so just minor stuff and we would stay there again.

Great location and value

Great location, room was very cozzy and had all the amenities. Bathroom looked recently remodeled in a very modern style. Because of location it can be noisy at night some and although they provide earplugs if you have a light sleep this may be an issue.

Comfortable stay, bathroom needs longer shower cur

The girl was clean, easy to check in and check out and perfect for a one night stay in the East Village. Free Wi-Fi was reliable and beds and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The shower curtain was not long enough which resulted in water from the shower pooling in the bathroom. They also. Didn't have an iron and iron board which was listed as part of the amenities. That's why I reduced a star. Would home here again and give them a heads up provide a longer shower curtain!

Definitely showing its age.

This is the 6th or 7th time we’ve stayed here. You can’t beat the location. That said, the property is definitely showing its wear and the retrofit repairs show a lack of wanting to stay cute and modern looking. For instance , the toilet seat replacement was the wrong size for the type of toilet and the shower curtain was too long for the curtain rod. Also, there used to be built in modern night stands on either side of the bed which have since been removed and replaced with a single tacky Amazon Night stand. The mattress was also really squishy. I’m sad because this has been our go to hotel for our quick trips into NYC.

Not clean.

The hotel is contactless which was pretty cool. They email you a code to enter the building and your room. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. The floors had not been swept or mopped in the bedroom, /kitchen area or the bathroom. There was a q-tip and hair on the bathroom floor and crumbs all over to bedroom floor. The shower door handle was broken, which was a little dangerous because the shower was slippery. The room itself was efficient with a desk, small kitchenette and queen size bed. The linens were clean. I did contact management and they were very easy to talk to and explain my complaints. However, because we were there on the weekend, we couldn't get a full answer of how they wanted to rectify the situation. Also, for some reason the water was turned off on the bathroom sink and toilet. If my husband wasn't so handy it would have been a huge problem, after waiting for someone to come up and look at the water. My husband figured out both of the valves were turned off... Weird. As of right now I am still waiting to hear from the hotel about a credit, I will update my review when I hear from them.

Be aware. This is a low-rise building in the east village. There is street noise. But that’s what you get when you stay on a real New York block, near NYU and awesome restaurants and such. The hotel’s communication is excellent. Rooms are small (it’s New York City!), but comfortable, functional, and clean. If you’re here to be a part of “real” New York, you’ll embrace the (supplied) earplugs and the street noise that New Yorkers accept as part of life. And if that’s you, you’ll love this place like we do.

My biggest complaint is that the "fully equipped kitchen" did not have any kind of coffee pot. My morning coffee is why I want the kitchen option. I don't want to go out first thing, it takes me awhile to get going. An hour in bed with my coffee and my laptop is how I start my day. In spite of the noise - and it is very noisy on the street, the location is great, easy to get to the subway and lots of dining choices. The bed was comfy. We were on the 4th floor and there is no elevator but it was fine.

Secure walk-up nearby to the park, restaurants, and shopping locations. Close to bus and subway routes. Window was slightly ajar and couldn't be fully closed, but in-room heating worked well.

A fine hotel in the East Village

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights over President's Day weekend. The check-in process was easy and the communication was fast. The room was very small, but to be expected for NYC. It was clean and nice to have a small kitchen space. It was in a great area with lots of bars and restaurants in a walkable distance. The only two complaints I would have are as follows: 1- the hotel is located on a fairly busy intersection, so it is very loud. There was city noise going on all night (horns, sirens, trucks, young people partying, etc.) It was a nice touch that ear plugs were included in the room, but it was still very loud. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you! 2- it rained/snowed the second night and the ceiling/brick wall had some sort of brown liquid leaking down the wall. This got all over some of the clothes in my suitcase, which was pushed up against the wall. Sadly, I did not notice this until morning when we were packing up to leave. Overall, this was a fine experience and if you are looking for a small, convenient space in East Village, this is a good option.
