Very Good

The room was quaint and adorable. I loved the decor, and the uniqueness of Three's Company room. It was small, but that's typical for NYC. My only complaint is that a room for three, only had two hooks in the bathroom. Otherwise the location was great, near multiple subway lines, and the bars on location were a great experience. It was perfect for our needs.
Location. Location! Tv didn't really work, and it's NYC so expect noise all night long (emergency vehicles, jack hammers, partying), but otherwise it was perfect. Clean, comfortable, and really fun to be on this Location.
The hotel has a wonderful aesthetic, and two adjacent restaurants which are really convenient. There’s no room service but you can order take out and pick it up literally next to the lobby. The only downside for me was the noisyness. My room was on the third story facing the main street and it was noisy every night until 3-4 AM. If you’re a light sleeper, you will definitely need ear plugs.
We really enjoyed this property as a central place to come back to while exploring NYC!

Liked: Cleanliness
This was the 6th time we have stayed at The Freehand. It is a bit run down but the price point used to be good and it's always been clean. This time it was pricier and we got to enjoy a lower floor room where they have a club night on Saturdays that goes until 3am. Our room was SHAKING from the base, I phoned reception and they offered earplugs. So you're going to piss off multiple floors of guests for the sake of your club night? (Read the trip advisor reviews, there are many that complain about this) If you get the lower rooms, you get so much noise you can't sleep. One night a guy in the neighbourhood screamed for 3 hours straight, every night there was so much street noise that sleep was patchy. If you can secure a room higher up and get a decent price, it's worth a stay but who can guarantee they're not going to get a low floor room? Simply not worth it. Last time for us after many good years
Loved staying at Freehand. Very clean and staff friendly. Roof top bar is a great vibe.
Location of hotel is great as well, we were able to walk to most places we wanted to visit
Shared a bunk room with 3 friends and while it was cozy, we really enjoyed the stay at Freehand! The housekeeping staff and folks helping with the baggages were super sweet - front desk staff are a little cold (not sure why- guess you can get a taste of both sides of New Yorkers!)
