Served it's purpose
The hotel was a short drive from Newark airport and a short drive to restaurants and stores. The hotel is a little dated and the complimentary breakfast was less than average. If your room faces the interstate, the traffic noise is consistent.

What I liked about the property was that it offered complimentary breakfast. The lobby looked inviting and was nicely decorated for the holiday season. The staff were very nice. They were prompt in addressing the TV issue or power issue in room 440 where we were originally assigned. They moved us to 538 after learning that there were power issues in 440. I would like to say that the rooms were average, nothing spectacuar. The bathroom in the room we stayed in could be cleaner. The first thing I noticed was the wrinkled shower curtain which made it look suss, the caulking around the tub could be redone or cleaned off of the mold or dirt. Hence, I only gave it a 3 star on the cleanliness part. The floors felt like it could use a really thorough mopping for it felt too rough, or grainy. I skipped the option of bathing in such a nice deep tub because of the condition surrounding it. The sofa bed frame was very hard to pull out of the couch and there were stains on the cushions. The lighting was not that great. They had a lamp attached to the desk which was super bright yellow and the other standing lamp in the corner was also very bright so if someone wanted a little light to just maybe read and have their roommate sleep, it would be very inconvenient. It seems as though, there isn't too much love put into the rooms anymore. I suggest if I may, that before checking in your guests into their rooms, that all appliances, beds, bathrooms are up to par.

This is our preferred hotel when we visit family on Staten Island. It is not as convenient as we would like but it is reasonably priced and reasonably clean and comfortable.
