There was no hot water in the building due to a gas leak. Hot water is a standard amenity and clients should be compensated for the inability to access it. I had planned to work at the hotel until my afternoon flight out, but there wifi was terrible. The staff said the wifi is terrible, but corporate has done nothing to fix it. The positives: the room was comfortable, clean and the staff was really great, but corporate needs to remedy some major issues. I feel bad for the hard working staff that is doing their best to accommodate their guests with these controllable issues.

I’m a frequent traveler and stay at hotels several times a year and have for years. I’ve never left a bad review, but felt compelled to leave this one so people don’t pay for something without knowing that it’s not worth it. Staff at the front desk did their job that was about it no warmth, not welcoming or helpful. The building is extremely tired. Our unit was clearly not well maintain the flooring has been worn out in areas and the thermostat although new has this peculiar feature where the HVAC vent in the main room points directly to the thermostat, which causes it to cycle on/off. It should be aimed towards the window area, and for some reason the HVAC wouldn’t turn on when the thermostat was turned up until I flipped the breaker to reset the system. Sound insulation is poor - could hear hall noise all day and night as well as from the elevator. The telephone system has no way to dim the LED screen which stays on all the time. If you’re a sensitive sleeper to light, the solution is put it underneath the table or put a towel over top of your phone. Similarly, the alarm clock is also not able to turn the illumination off. The area where the hotel is located is not a particularly attractive area so all in all there really isn’t much to draw someone to the hotel. Pricing for what you receive was very high $400 for Saturday night is a lot of money for a hotel that’s old and tired and not well maintained. I didn’t try any of the food. Pick somewhere else …

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are large and the downstairs cafe area is pretty nice. But the service was pretty disappointing. Staying at a hotel for this price is a choice we made to have a better experience. While the rooms were nicer than an average hotel, the service would’ve been better at a holiday in. I let the booking staff know it was a stay right after our wedding ad a part of our honeymoon and nothing was done to recognize this. We also had to go downstairs to get our own luggage cart and ordering two coffees in the morning took longer than the food we ordered three neighborhoods away. I wouldn’t stay here again.

For $300 a night, please renovate
These rooms need to be renovated badly. We walked in to a huge moisture stain on the bar, the glasses and mugs were all covered in dust as was the floor. Anything we dropped was covered in layers of dust, who knows when the last time it was mopped. The walls are scratched up and the floors badly stained. The shower was the worst - there’s visible mold on the floor, the shower heads were rusty and discolored. To make matters worse, there were gnats coming up and out from the floor drain, crawling and flying everywhere while we showered. They also neglected to ever mention the $200 per night deposit, ever at any point - just charged me. The front desk and service people were amazing but I would not return. This was not fun.

I booked a king room with balcony and city view. I had a king room with the view of garbage and a highway. All night I heard the cars. When I went all the balcony all I seen was garbage no city view at all. It was horrible. The television made a loud noise blocking out the sound of the shows. The bed was extremely noisey as well as the refrigerator didn’t keep anything cold.

The only bad thing we didn’t like about it was the parking situation. I called prior to booking confirming and reconfirming that the parking garage would take our large SUV. We had a bad experience last summer in Manhattan. Unfortunately, upon arriving, we had the same Problem and was forced to find another parking garage. Drove around 40 minutes to find one. Also at breakfast, we were not told prior to arriving about the breakfast situation. I prepaid at $26 per person, Because at check-in, it was $35 per person. We were not allowed certain options and so what we ended up buying was far less than what we paid for. My wife and I both got an orange juice, She got a four dollar scone, I got a chicken egg and biscuit sandwich I think $14-$16. Frankly, that biscuit was terrible. I could’ve used it for a coaster. Maybe it just wasn’t my taste, But I think you guys should have the stipulations under the additional information. You need to tell people with Large cars they can’t park at the garage, And what is included with the breakfast. I would’ve saved my money and gone to a diner. Ended up stopping at McDonald’s on the way out, 😆 But whatever it was fine, I at least I got to try the new chicken Big Mac. That definitely cured my hangover from the wedding last night.

Room was surprising large for NYC and generally well laid out. Very clean. The one problem I had was that there was no internet when I got there. Staff told me they'd fix it, requiring me to cool my heels for about an hour. I finally gave up, went to dinner, although it was finally fixed upon my return, thanks to my third request for help.
