Great hotel, very basic

Great hotel. Staff was awesome, Nice lobby/outdoor area if the weather is right. They have a bar, we didn't get around to seeing it. The room itself was a little outdated, no mini fridge or microwave, tv was old but it worked. Overall it was great and we will be back again There was street parking a few blocks out for free, not a bad area

There were no flat bed sheet between the fitted sheet and the blanket. No house keeping on staff. The front desk receptionist has to leave her post to get us the sheets after a long delay.

Upon arrival I noticed that the soap and the body wash containers were empty. I asked the front desk staff about getting more shower gel. The response was that they didn’t have any. When I asked for a bar of soap, any soap, I was told that they will bring it to the room. Two days later still no soap. Also, very noisy rooms, lots of people hanging out in the hallway, partying, etc. The elevator makes a high pitch noise so anytime someone got off the elevator on my floor, I heard it. On a positive side, the room was clean. Will not stay there again.

This spot was solid for a spot to see New York proper, and not be super close to tourists. Annoyingly when booked on Expedia it didn’t mention when you arrive they require $100 upfront on top of what you pay for the room for to cover damages (it is refundable however still annoying)
