The hotel had a central location to mid town. And was a good location for walking to different areas. The only criticism was with housekeeping which unfortunately let the brand down,ie on trying to fill the ice bucket I noticed there was trash( dirty cotton buds and half eaten chocolate bar) left in there by the previous occupier.On numerous days I had to call down for replacement cups and tea which had not been left by housekeeping.

It was shocking to pay ahead for our stay, arrive and be told we were being charged forty dollars a day surcharge and were required to use up forty dollars everyday on hotel beverages or restaurant products. Their menu choices were extremely limited. One night we ordered two Monte Christos for $27.00 and the next night we were charged forty seven when the bartender had no idea that you use hot coffee not iced. It was frustrating and disrespectful to be told that if you didn’t use the forty dollars, you lost it. Eight nights times forty dollars and taxes came to four hundred dollars. Times that by thirty percent for Canadian funds is another one hundred and twenty dollars out of our spending money. Patrons must read the very small print before booking if this is common practice in hotels now. Somebody should be looking into this from higher up. They should just make the room forty dollars more a night. That is up front. This “Read the small Print” business is undermining good and fair business practices. There must be some government regulations against this practice. It really affected how we felt about our trip. We and so many others who went away angry that we felt taken advantage of. People work hard for their money and many of us save for months to have a trip away. This practice needs to stop. I am writing this to help others that usually like to stay at this great hotel. I do not plan to stay here again because this. I hope this comment helps others!
