OK, for Times Square

If you need to be in Times Square this is a good choice. I fund it very difficult to get to because of the traffic around TS. The hotel was vey new and modern, but I found the guests in the lobby to be less than what I expected. This is likely due to the very competitive price. Caveat, there are 2 Rui Plaza at Times Square, one on 46th street and the one I stayed in on 47th street.

Check in was slow and the reception desk couldn’t find my prepaid reservation. It took an hour. The elevator situation meant taking the stairs. It was faster from the 8th floor than using the elevator. The room was comfortable and clean.

The staff was helpful at this location. We accidentally were dropped off at the other Riu a few blocks over and when the young female who attempted to check us in on 6/18 @ 12noon saw our frustration that we didn’t know where we were - her and another young clerk began to laugh. Try and be more helpful ! The property on 47th street the staff was very friendly, helpful and helpful. The location was perfect as it’s a half block off Times Square and a Dunkin was directly across the street and was never busy. The only BIG issue I have with this hotel are the elevators. Awful !! No lie in the morning we waited 20 minutes to just get downstairs. We ended up taking the stairs from the 12th floor. On our last day trying to get luggage downstairs we had to call the front desk to stop an elevator just to get our taxi to make our flight. They stop 1 elevator in the mornings for their breakfast buffet so everything is backed up. It’s a complete joke!!! People were complaining non stop!!

We had a short but wonderful stay at this property! The staff was amazing, especially Wallace and all of the bellman we encountered. So helpful and informative! The area is touristy but perfect if you are heading out to a Broadway show. I would highly recommend this property. PS…The shower was great as well!!!

Amazing location and great staff. Room was lovely. Literally a 30 second walk to the steps at Times Square. No tea or coffee in room was a little annoying... Lifts often busy, one morning (we were on 38th floor) we waited nearly 30 mins to get on the lift. Heard lots of lift related complaints from other guests.

Perfect location for a Broadway show or hopping in the crowd for the Today Show. Walking distance to the theaters and restaurant row, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center. Fantastic location at a reasonable price! All the staff were kind and accommodating. The rooms had everything you need; a little small, but it’s New York. Everything that we wanted to go to was within walking distance. If I ever need to go back to NYC, this is the hotel I will book.
