A family of six in a Sonder suite
I was traveling to NYC with my guy, my daughters and their boyfriends (teens). I didn't want to have multiple hotel rooms so this fit the bill. Overall we were pleased with the space and amenities. The space was modern in design and spacious (especially for a space in NYC). The doors didn't close/lock, one bedroom had a glass panel door (no privacy) and the sinks drained slow. The pillows didn't offer much support and left us with sore necks. It would be nice to have USB ports somewhere in the space and more lighting.

The stay was nice. The app made it super easy to check in and go throughout the day without carrying a key. Overall no complaints. We went i. early december so it was VERY overpriced but was the most reasonable for the area we looked. Could imagine a long term stay there would be quite nice and manageable.

Our unit was fully stocked with everything we needed. It was wonderful to celebrate Thanksgiving and having our own kitchen. The walk to the subway was only two blocks. Great location.

The apartment was nice and clean. Front desk was a bit helpful. The staff were all nice and the area was great. It helps there’s lots of public transportation around.

The photos of my room looked nothing like the photos on the site. Felt like a dorm room with scratchy sheets. Under the pillow case there was faded blood on the pillow protector! The room was not set up for comfort. Giant lamp on a tiny unstable bedside table that couldn’t fit both a water glass and a phone. The bathroom was a cheap sink mounted on the wall with no shelf or counter to keep toothbrush. It’s nice and rare to have a kitchen in a NYC hotel but the room was not set up for eating or sitting. All around awful.
Where is the beautiful upholstered headboard with sconce lighting and multiple pillows shown on the website? No aesthetics.
Cheap plastic everywhere. This had no storage so it was on the floor
No place to put your toothbrush or any items

Hospitality can be difficult when there is little opportunity for face to face contact. With that is mind some better comms about what’s available nearby (diners, entertainment, pharmacy, food delivery options) could help. Room comfort would be better if an armchair or sofa could be provided.

The apartment had light globes not working, the air conditioner smelt and we had to organise our own rubbish removal, toilet paper and towels. Our sink was clogged every morning and waited for the water to go down for us to wash our hands or brush our teeth. I won’t be choosing Sonder again.

There were very different online photos as compared to what we got. Both hair dryers didn’t work. There were no extra added aspects of comfort. The lotion in my bathroom was opened and partially used. The drain didn’t work in the bathtub off the master. Everything looked worn and a bit grubby for the price. We paid 6,000 for the week. I expected much more luxury vibe. My husband and I stayed at a Sonder a couple years ago and it was much nicer. The property had gone seriously downhill.

Great 1st experience with Sonder. Easy app and good communication. Unit was comfortable, with high ceiling and kitchen with supplies. The bed was FIRM, but very comfortable. For Manhattan, the area was quiet. Easy to navigate public transit, including the NY ferry system. Some scratches in floor and stains on countertop but otherwise clean. I would recommend and stay again.
