There was nothing unique about this property.However it's rediculous to have a hotel without on site parking in a residential area and there is NO STREET PARKING available. The coffee maker in the room was filthy and no sugar and creamer we left in the room .I would definitely not book there again or recomend that place to ANYBODY.

Water pooled in the bathtub, making it difficult to have a clean bath. There were coach roaches some places which was not surprising as I had seen a comment about that from a review by someone else.

This is a great hotel to stay at if you're trying to catch an early flight at JFK airport, as it's right by the JFK AirTrain. The staff at Essence Hotel gave me great service, in spite of a problem with the booking caused by Expedia. The Essence staff took care of me and I had a good rest before my flight.

My first room in there had roaches inside crawling off the bed and a couple in the bathroom and behind the TV. The appliances were all unplugged and I had to change to another room. Second room appliances were unplugged but more convenient and cleaner.
