It was a really nice hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room (and hotel) were very modern, which I liked. My BIGGEST issue was the size of the room. It was so small; it didn't have a closet, or fridge, or microwave. The bathroom was basically the same size of the 'living' area, which was such a waste of space. The bathroom, while very modern and clean (tub! which you don't see anymore in newer hotels) however, it had so much wasted space. The sink didn't have a lot of counter area so I found myself not know where to put things I needed. There was an area in the bathroom that was completely empty - would've been helpful if there was a counter in that space. The room was just that, a queen bed (no side tables so I had to charge my phone in an outlet that was next to my head, on the wall, and leave it on the bed with me). I had to put my clothes on some coat hooks that were nailed to the wall - which wasn't helpful at all. There was also a super small desk - barely any room for a laptop and anything else. Maybe these things don't matter to everyone, but felt as though they needed to be mentioned. Again, clean and friendly staff.

This was a great hotel. The rooms are a little tight as knowing it is New York but something to pay attention to when comparing rooms. The hotel staff was accommodating and nice.

Terrific front desk (thanks Glenn!) and the location is very convenient to the NYSE but, while the property is slick and modern-y, it's super weird and dysfunctional with zero attention to detail . Tiny "desk" to work on, non-functioning TV ("reloading" "unable to reload"), poorly thought out room layout (giant bathroom with zero counter space) and, the crowing weird of all weirdness: no closet. None. Not sure if the new generation of traveler lives out of a suitcase but when you have meetings the next day, all of the above makes for a lousy experience.

For all the haters re: room size. It's NYC, rooms are small -- this room had a pretty lovely/spacious bathroom though. The good: Overall, the FiDi was a great option for me as a solo traveler. The staff (Bianca, Glen and many others whom I don't know their names) are super! Very kind, welcoming and just great service. Everything was clean and well maintained. Coffee/tea in the AM was appreciated, as was the daily infused water. Excellent walking to either the Greenway, south street or battery park and easy access to most subway lines. Loved getting a Citi bike and going up the west side path. I felt it was very safe as well and pretty quiet. I requested a mini fridge before my stay and they had one installed in the room -- I do think they can do this with all rooms TBH, but ask and you should receive. Lots of good restaurants in the area as well! The not great: I do wish the gym had another machine or two, but I got my workouts in. The $30/day "resort" fee is ridiculous, but again, most NYC hotels have this too. Overall, the area isn't my fave, BUT I would def stay there again if I needed to be in the area for work. If you're a tourist who wants access to all the downtown tourist stuff or a biz traveler, this place is a gem.

Frankly - toooo much black and 50 shades of grey..... Staff was very friendly. Our room was on 5th floor; tiny, dark and wirh a view on to a tall brick wall 30ft across. There was onl1 1 little chair to sit on, no storage space for cloth and no shelfspace in the bathroom to satisfy 2 travelers. And no decent nightlight , just very stark light that woke everyone one up immediately. So, all in all 8k but i would not book again. Sadly...

It’s a nice space for a quick trip that you expect not to stay in your room for long- super NYC style compact. Was comfortable, clean and walking distance to transportation , food options and neighborhood quiet on the weekend.

Great hotel find for NYC
We stayed in a superior queen room on the 28th floor for three nights. The Employees at the front desk, were extremely helpful and friendly. They stored Our luggage until the 3 PM check-in, which went very smoothly. The infused water and coffee on the second floor was very much appreciated after our trip. The 5 to 7 happy hour is a very nice amenity. The room itself is on the small side, but very efficiently arranged. It was very clean, with daily housekeeping And bottled water provided in the room. I could hear some noise night, but fortunately I wear earplugs so I slept Soundly. The best things about this hotel, were the helpful staff and the convenient location within walking distance of at least three subway stations and plentiful, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Special shout out to Angelica, who is the best hotel manager in New York City! We hope to be coming back to stay at the FIDI again.

Would stay again
We had a wonderful stay. The room was small, but I would stay again. Although we did not have coffee in the room it was on the second floor, had a nice quiet time in the morning drinking my coffee on the balcony. The staff was very polite and helpful. Right around the corner, there is Fraunces Tavern, it had wonderful food and atmosphere, I wish we had gone at the beginning of our trip, I would have gone back multiple times to eat. Has a lot of history to it. The hotel is close enough to walk to many places and the Big Bus tour stops are right around the corner. Check with the front desk to get the QDR code for your discounts.
