Great location for Broadway, also close to subway. Dinner at the Irish Pub next door was fun and tasty, recommendation of the Gallivant staff. Tiny elevators but very fast - never waited even 5 minutes. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Housekeeping was helpful with towels, cups and coffee supplies. Staff was very accommodating with directions. An older building well maintained with several upgrades. We felt welcomed and safe throughout our stay! tes. The pictures on website are a lie. I thought we were walking into a night club in the lobby, low lights with purple lights on and music so loud you couldnt hear the front counter ladie. Room had no kind of refrigerator no microwave and felt like a jail cell. Carpet through out halls was stained and worn and nasty. Extremely disappointed with how much this place cost me for my daughters first trip to NYC. Will never stay there again. And if i was anyone else i would pay whatever it is to stay elsewhere. The best thing about this place was how friendly the hous keeping was. Everything else was a negative 10

The traffic noise was horrible. Especially after midnight; ya know when you wanna sleep. I was on the 8th floor and car horns sounded like the car was in the room. And the hotel is located 50 yards from a fire fighter house. The heroic fire fighters work 24/7 so they respond to calls all thru the night. And their horns and sirens are deafening. The elevators are tiny and take forever. I used the stairs most of the time especially going down. And I was on the eighth floor. The blanket was extremely thin on the bed. No refrigerator. No room service of any kind. No comfortable chair to watch tv. The shower takes about 7 minutes to get warm. The shower has an immovable pane of glass that only covers half the shower opening so the bathroom floor floods. The only garbage bin is the size of a gallon milk cartoon so after only a couple of items it’s overflowing. Seriously it’s full after you place what you used to make morning coffee in it. The extremely tiny garbage bag is full after 2 cans of soda. Lines from the nearby theater completely block the entrance to the hotel and take up the entire sidewalk……. Sigh At least Notre Dame won the football game at Yankee Stadium. Only a few hundred dollar Uber ride away.

Better than expected
My expectations were low after reading reviews. Yes there were issues. The shower sprayed most of the bathroom floor. The chain bolt on the entry door was broken, leaving us without the additional layer of security. There was a hole in the drywall under the window. There may have been a mold issue as my allergies started acting up, but that could have been weather related. However the room was comfortable and clean and devoid of bed bugs and shower drain flies. The staff was pleasant. There were no noise disturbances. The location was good.

Don’t stay here! My experience was horrible. Before I even got there, they couldn’t be reached by phone and when reached were extremely inflexible. The place room was extremely small, one elevator didn’t work, and I had to wait 15 minutes for the other. Horrible wifi. Just an overall horrible experience. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else!

The heater wouldn’t shut off and we told the management and it still was unbearably hot. The outlets were missing their faceplates. The light behind one of the beds was unplugged and on further investigation found water coming from the outlet hole in the wall. The coffee pot was missing. None of these were addressed by the staff before we left.
