I have a lot of breathing issues - previous pulmonary embolism, asthma, and severe allergies. I got to the hotel late in the afternoon. The moment I stepped into the room, I knew I couldn't stay there. My eyes started watering, and my throat was closing up. I took my albuterol emergency inhaler and returned downstairs to see if I could get another room. I was told no, and she said I didn't want the room! It wasn't that I didn't like it; I didn't want to wind up in the hospital ER at the beginning of my vacation. I asked for the manager, but he had gone home. I asked for his email so I could send an email explaining that this condition is life-threatening to me. He returned my email and said he couldn't reimburse me for my three paid nights since I booked through Expedia. I booked another hotel and left. The manager emailed again to say his team went to the room and couldn't find anything, causing my discomfort. I'm sure a doctor could weigh in here and tell them they wouldn't find anything if they didn't have breathing issues. I couldn't tell them what caused it, but I know that I couldn't stay there without health consequences. Expedia should check to see if the room was rented out those three nights, thus getting double pay!

The Lodge Red Hook is a clean, safe and comfy stay in Brooklyn. We appreciated the included breakfast and private parking. Red Hook is a laid-back, waterfront neighborhood in southwest Brooklyn and is a great base to explore both Brooklyn and Manhattan by Citibike and by foot. In just a few minutes walk you are on a waterfront leading to the Brooklyn bridge with excellent views of the Manhattan skyline.

Nice hotel, close to the port terminal. Breakfast, though included, disappointing. Whatever eggs they brought in, it seems they use a catering company, were overdone, and they ran out of eggs and bacon quickly. Totally unprepared. Also, toaster was broken. So dont fall for the "Breakfast Included", unless they just had a bad day when we visited.

I truly enjoyed my stay. A little jewel nestled in Brooklyn. The breakfast was divine. Fine manners and proper language by the staff is so refreshing while traveling. I loved the coffee. It felt very French!!!

Red Hook pre cruise stay.

Clean room at back of hotel on corner, was quiet although friend further up the corridor said the corridors were noisy and you could hear sounds from adjacent rooms. Check in staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was chaotic and the room too small for all the guests. Food not replenished quickly enough. A well stock food store was about 5/10 mins walk away along with a coffee shop and Pizza take away, was all we needed for a one night stop before a cruise. Possible to walk to Pier 12 cruise terminal if you’re able bodied but is approx 15/20 mins, fine on a nice sunny morning like we had.

The staff was professional and kind, my friend and I stayed a night before our cruise and the night after the cruise returned. Very clean, comfortable with hot water. A little restaurant two minute walk on the corner with good food. Easily got an uber that took us all over. We will definitely be back for our next cruise! Thank you!!
