Beware of the completely unjustfied hudden USD 500 holding charge which is sprung upon you at check in when it is too late to cancel. Absolutely outrageous for a hotel which offers no additional services. And cleaning staff who walk straight into the room without knocking at 9am.

I loved this property. The only drawback was the expensive breakfast and the fact that I couldn’t get a free cup of coffee in the morning! Free coffee in the afternoon was a nice perk.

Our stay at The Manhattan Club was pleasant. We had a one bedroom suite which was very spacious. Our daughter had a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge room and there was a bonus 2nd bathroom for her. The rooms are quite dated though and furnishings are starting to look a little shabby. A couple of the dining chairs were actually threadbare and the glass table lent to one side. They advertise these suites as having a kitchenette but there is no kettle and no toaster. When we enquired about these items they said toasters aren't provided due to th being a fire risk and no kettles because there is a coffee machine provided. If you want a cup of tea, you have to boil water in the microwave, which is not ideal. Other than that, we had a good 7 night stay.

Don’t book the city lights room for any sort of city light views. You are on the 2nd floor. It’s very misleading. We paid extra and were very disappointed. The view out our window was some overgrown weeds and some big metal container. Also people need to be more considerate of others. We had a family a couple doors down that let their children run wild and scream late into the night and early in the morning. The room cleaners are very efficient. They are very sweet. I wouldn’t say the rooms are extremely clean but it was ok our standard. Also they try and sell you 8$ bottles of Fuji water in the room. Go across to cvs and replace them for $4 if you do drink one. Just a tip. Water pressure was awful on the 18th floor Second half of our trip when we moved to the “city lights” we were on the 2nd floor and it was much more enjoyable (the shower).
