The pictures of the room did not reflect the true condition of the room which was very ‘tired’ and in need of refurbishment. Added to this, the pillows smelled of body odour so wasn’t convinced that the pillow and /or pillow cases had been cleaned.

Will return for several reasons!

If you're undecided on where to stay in Times Square, go no further! Close enough to all of the action yet a block away providing quiet throughout afternoons, evenings, and early mornings. All amenities are too much to mention but they spoil their guests with quality coffee (and snacks) in lobby, very helpful staff, large & clean rooms, SB KCups, and continental brwakfast in private & spacious area. There are two theaters on the same block and a handful within 2 blocks...very walkable. If your heading to lower Manhattan or uptown, cabs are frequently passing the ceont of the hotel. Like I said, look no further!

The Pearl has a couple things we liked (e.g. location, pleasant staff) and a few things we really hate at this price point (e.g., single-ply toilet paper) but the low rating derives from the simple fact that we were unable to sleep in our room. Two main points: - The AC makes more noise than any other AC system in any other hotel on the planet. We would have happily turned it off and opened the windows but the AC noise was preferable to the 24-hour construction noise originating directly across the street. - The bed, itself, was a disaster. The quite-comfortable HIGH-PROFILE mattress was topped with a thin LOW-PROFILE mattress pad and a thin UNFITTED bottom sheet, both of which untucked the instant a human body lay on the bed. For the rest of the night we'd be trying to sleep while laying on bunched-up sheets. On our third night, we resorted to stripping the bed and sleeping directly on the mattress, then refused room service to hide our crime before our final night there. There is no way - none - that the latter complaint is unknown to housekeeping and, we assume, by management. This one-star review is for a management that cares more about cost savings than about guest comfort.
