We had a nice time at the Tillary. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and a lot of care had been put in selecting unique decor for the hotel overall, but so much was falling apart or didn’t work. When we arrived to our room, you had to use your full body weight to open or close the door because it wasn’t on the hinges properly. Walking in, it looked like a werewolf had turned due to crazy scratching on the floor and on some of the furniture. The bathroom shower leaked all over the floor because there wasn’t a complete door and the water went everywhere. The tv was supposed to allow you to stream content from your phone- it didn’t work. The bathroom mirror was on a slider and also made to open the bathroom to the bedroom which meant the sound or steam wasn’t enclosed when you used the bathroom. But, redeeming qualities: the staff was super responsive and friendly; location is a ten minute walk from good food, restaurants, subway stops, coffee,etc.; the price was good; I’m not sure I would stay again, but it was a nice adventure.

This place was not nice. No one was in uniform when I walked up to the desk. It looked very unprofessional. The incidentals deposit was $250 for what I would call a very terribly run hotel. I thought this would be a nice place to stay as we planned a date night in BK. It was not. If you are going to BK try your best to find somewhere else. Also the parking is extremely limited so just plan to pay for parking.

Unforeseen charges & no comforters!
I was disappointed with my experience at the Tillary Hotel. My room was covered through work, but when I arrived, the team notified me that there would be an additional $25 a day added to my personal card for Wifi and water. That seemed strange to me! Also, there were only sheets on the bed - no comforters or blankets. We called down to the front desk two nights in a row for comforters, but the first night they brought very old, strange looking blankets to us and the next night brought more sheets and said they couldn't find comforters. I found the staff to be rather rude, too. That said, I won't be staying again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know.

Internet went down when I was attempting to check-in. Had to wait in lobby for 15-20 extra minutes for my key card to get registered. Receptionist was on the phone texting and FaceTiming when I walked up. Told me to hold while she finished. Never hung up the FaceTime until she couldn’t get the key card to work and then told that person she would call them back. Manager never came out to apologize to me or tell both receptionist to get off their phones.

When traveling to a big city, you want to feel welcomed and safe. The staff at The Tillary were so caring! Also, the location is perfect for the Brooklyn flea Market, a walk across the brooklyn bridge to chinatown and little Italy.

This property was listed as a 4-star hotel, which it clearly is not (except for the price). We were met with indifferent staff (save one housekeeper), dark sparse rooms, a tiny closet, no dresser for clothes (we paid extra for a “luxury” king), and just a ‘grab and go’ eating facility. And don’t get me started on the old, slow, poorly maintained elevators. Oh, and you’ll only get hot water on some days of your stay. Disappointed to say the least.
