The sheets and towels were clean and I got a good news sleep. Otherwise, it is a dinghy dark depressing place. The room furniture looks like it was rescued from a garbage dump. The bed was comfortable but shorter than standard. This place starkly shows how the Howard Johnson brand now means “dump”. But close to NYC, this is what $100 gets you. Come with low expectations and you’ll be happy.

Dirty rooms, dirty hallways, smelly hallways. No amenities as advertised. Two vans outside that said Howard Johnson but no shuttle services.

Very bad service
Strange smell in the room. About 8 am someone tried to come in my room but because I used the latch so that person can’t come in. They told me about restaurant when I went there she said it closed at 1 pm and not allow me in the restaurant. Very poor and bad service. I’ll never stay there again!

Good stay for trip
Nice stay. Quiet considering next to airport. People were very nice to me. Room was cleaned daily. Some typical smells like smoke in hallways. I happened to stay while they were updating rooms so any bit of mess was for that.
