Great service at reception, room was clean. Could not get the TV to work and unable to contact reception late at night. This hotel is convenient as attached to Wests which has all of the needed facilities. Recommended!
Room really clean, housekeeping staff do a great job. Pool lovely, well kept. Issue with renovations in room above us that nobody told us about it at check in, d/w reception, apologies made, compensation given, just not what we'd expect, especially given good service on numerous previous visits. Coffee machine desperately needed at breakfast. You can buy barista coffee but most buffets of that price point would at least include a machine to make coffee rather than filter coffee. Emerald Gardens great Chinese restaurant, really enjoyed it.
We enjoyed our stay at The Executive Inn. Lovely breakfast buffet, great outdoor spa and the pool curfew of 9pm was enforced meaning that it was quiet at night time. Rooms are individually air-conditioned and the staff are friendly. We were needing to go to John Hunter Hospital which was a short bus trip away or a 20 minute walk (all downhill on the way back!) There's a small shopping village very close by.
The room hadn't been properly serviced. There was an open carton of milk left in the fridge and the floor was not vacuumed properly and there were no facewashers. We found a lovely staff lady named Liz who supplied a sealed carton of milk and facewasher with a sincere apology.
The reception staff seemed slightly rude when I requested towels for the pool, which I was told should have already been in the room (they weren't).
Slightly confused, I asked if I was expected to use the bath towels for the pool as there were no separate pool towels in the room. The staff member then went to retrieve 2 bath towels and after requesting 2 more (there were 4 of us) I thought I received a slightly petulant look.
The room was spacious and mostly comfortable, the beds could do with a refresh as I found the mattress hard and lumpy. The location and access to the Wests club is great!
The room was clean but the toilet had a bad smell of urine and one of the light bulbs didn't work. The staff members were nice and helpful. When we complained to reception, they made a note and had the light fixed immediately. They also gave us air freshener that we can spray the toilet. When the cleaner came the next day, the smell disappeared but it would occasionally come back during our 4-night stay and we couldn't figure out where it was coming from because we flushed the toilet every time.But otherwise, we like this hotel, liked that it was connected to the club so food was no problem and the pool area is beautiful. The breakfast buffet was also good and loved the view of the pool area from there. Will definitely consider staying here again.
