Mature Rugby Supporters.
We were 4 mature Rugby supporters from Newport staying in Newcastle for a European Cup rugby match. We were looking for a hotel near the centre and this fitted the bill perfectly. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and perfectly adequate for 3 nights stay. Breakfast was very good and well stocked with the usual food from the continental menu or the English choice and you could have as much as you wanted. Location was easy to walk around city centre and 5 mins to central station.

The only thing I found lacking was the quality of the breakfast, good options but only just passable for eating, cold beans, claggy eggs, over-stood ‘hard’ hash browns & ultra cheap sausage Otherwise everything was great 👍

Nice hotel - be aware of external noise
Just returned from a weekend break in Newcastle. Hotel was spotless and had a central location, convenient for the station, shopping, restaurants and pubs. Decent breakfast.There was a bit of external noise from the inevitable police/ambulance sirens and the usual stag and hen parties returning in the early hours, which is typical of many city centres. Service was good, barring one member of the bar staff who thought their priority was to replenish the fridges rather than serve their only customer (me). "I'll be with you in a minute" after ignoring me for a couple on mins while filling the first fridge, then going onto start filling a second one, before I decided not to bother buying a drink there. I wonder if they would consider saying the same thing to a fridge, "I'll be with you in a minute, while I serve this customer"? No, I thought not. I'd hope it was a one-off.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, can’t do enough for you in fact. The hotel is convenient for buses the train station and walking to the city centre. Rooms are on the smallish side but good value and the bedding and towels almost sparkle they are so white. The complimentary breakfast is not the best breakfast you’re ever going to have but is fresh and plentiful. Overall a great place to stay, made amazing by its staff.
