Booked last minute for a quiet night away. Hotel was cheap and in the area we wanted to be in. Was a little disappointed with the room. The bed was a small double, not great for two adults. It could definitely have done with a lick of paint and new carpets. The shower gel and shampoo dispensers didn’t work either. In an area of town where it’s competing with the crown plaza and hotel indigo (which I’ve stayed in both recently) the Leonardo definitely needs to raise its game. Little things like mini fridges in the rooms and Bluetooth audio systems make a big difference. Overall, I’d say if the Indigo or Crown Plaza are within £20-30 of the Leonardo, pay the extra, but if it’s budget and closeness to central station, this probably just about does what you need.

Recommended and great staff
This hotel is not the best I’ve ever stayed in, it’s looking a bit tired in the rooms, corridors and public areas. But, it’s good value and clean and near the station. However what makes this hotel is the staff - they are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble for them, chatty and friendly and very helpful. An example : I asked for a late check-out for a work meeting at midday, which unfortunately they couldn’t do because of other bookings but offered me a space in the bar area for a work meeting where they said they’d cordon off a space and keep it quiet for me. In the end the meeting got cancelled, but super helpful. Fully recommended as long as you don’t expect 4/5* luxury.

Great hotel. Everything perfect Would of give ot 5* if it had heating in the room. I stayed December and roo was quiet cold Also it's further away from town centre than ithought, cost £20 to get to the hotel. Everything else was good.
