Needed a stay over whilst wife was having an operation at nearby rvi, asked for a ground room or near the lift wasn’t any available so struggled to get upstairs, Iafter dropping wife off at hospital I came back to room and didn’t venture out,
Had to retune the tv every time I switch it on
Arrived at the hotel around 6pm-ish to find there was noone in reception. Used the phone on the outside to ring and it must've rang through about 40 times by that time 2 families and a solo traveller had joined the queue.
Room was freezing on the night time despite me turning radiator up to full so struggled to get off to sleep until 2am. Comfy beds and clean room however, the shower drain was blocked so ended up standing in soapy dirty water throughout my shower. Upon checking out I received a very robotic farewell.
Overall good for the price you pay however there could be improvements.
We left a day early as we could not stay another night here. Mould around the bath and taps, holes in the hotel towels, carpets were filthy, holes in wall and dirty. We were going to check straight back out as soon as we got there but couldn't as we didnt have time to look for another hotel before our gig. Really disappointed would not recommend.
The Hotel is was clean and tidy overall good value

Disliked: Amenities
This is a very dated hotel and whilst it’s a good location few minutes to centre it’s so unclean and dated whilst the price sounds good it’s not and not much cheaper than other hotel chains with better ratings. Rooms smelt a cigarette but left in room and stunk of smoke. If I’d of had a room in the newer part I would have been happier. Bedding was clean comfortable bed. The hallways are filthy and the cctv looks at the wall !
Helpful staff on check in and nice spacious rooms. Plenty of parking if you are in the car. Only gripe is the duvets are thick and it gets hot, but I am a fussy sleeper. Great hotel that I use frequently for my trips to Newcastle. Will continue to be the hotel that I use in the future.
When we arrived the receptionist was lovely. Booking in was easy and quick. We were given a room on the second floor. On entering the building looked cleaned with no clutter on entry. Quite plainly decorated with white walls and a striped carpet. Our room also looked ok on entering. The room was mostly and well set up. Unfortunately after further inspection there was a couple of things that I noticed. The windowsill had paint peeling away across the bottom of the window. The beside light next to the wardrobe had tape over what would have been the separate switch. So it could only be turned on and off with the dual switch on the other side of the bed. Also no power outlet on that side either. There was dirt at the bottom of the shower glass where it curved into the middle of the bracket attaching it into the base. My friend found the bed a little hard but I didn't so that is personal taste. But otherwise the room was very good. The hotel was a 3 minute car ride from my daughters home, the reason why I chose the hotel. We booked Friday to Monday to have a short break and visit my daughter. I will ask for a downstairs room on my return visit which will be in a few month's. Very well priced.
2nd time here as its value for money with the free parking, however, this time there was a generator in the car park which ran all night. No sleep whatsoever we should have been warned it was there.
We didn’t get the property we booked, our booking was shifted into another hotel, which was dirty noisy and had very shady vibes. Breakfast for 2 was included we only get for 1 person.
Very disappointing.
