let me first start this by saying Katie was wonderful. Very sweet very attentive, young lady. actually the best thing about this hotel. Take note. This hotel is very expensive and not worth the price.You have to understand this is a very very old building. But in saying that, I also have to say that I have stayed in very old buildings all over Europe that have been updated amazingly well done.so it is possible this just doesn't happen to be one of those. SoI think the best way to rate the hotel would be in the form of a question. Would I ever stay there again? absolutely not.

We loved our stay! Everyone was so incredibly nice, the decor was beautiful, the bed was so comfortable, the breakfast was delicious… we can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed it. The location was great, an easy walk to the wharf.

Great location!

Great location. Quick walk to the wharf. Very friendly front desk upon check in. Very clean and cozy room. Only downfall is you can hear everything through walls/ doors. It’s an older property so to be expected to an extent. All day coffee and tea was a treat!! Would definitely stay again!

I had stayed at Gilded many years ago and there’s lots to like - a lovely welcome from Katie, cookies on arrival, the rooms are still funky and fun. However our shower was a challenge to use with low water pressure and even lower controllability. Also we hadn’t realised the property is basically unstaffed after 5pm, which probably encouraged the pot smokers we encountered on the porch on our return from dinner. I like Gilded but maybe a rethink is needed.
