Room was extremely small and extremely expensive for the size and accomodations. $1303.74 for two nights is not worth it. No in house dining, no room refrig, no pool, no gym, etc...The staff wouldn't even provide details about tours or any outside activities. I would not stay here in future.

Located along Newport's historic commercial district, home to many past America's Cup 12m sailing events, and the many nearby mega-mansions of the Gilded Age industrialists that brought style, prestige and money to the fabled Narragansett Bay area. Hammetts offers exceptional value for cost. Location, access, safety, dining and shopping options, convenient parking....all wrapped in well appointed spacious rooms and casual spaces. The value lies in the details...and a visit will prove the point.

Staff are not friendly. They never smile, and if you ask them a question they answer as if they are doing you a favor. Sheets and pillow cases were not changed during my three day stay. I found a nail on the floor at the feet of the bed.

I was very disappointed to say the least! I paid close to $1000 for 1 night (including parking)!! I expected luxury, however, I got a small room with a view. No mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, or water!! The bathroom door did not stay closed, so no privacy either! I have stayed in Newport MANY times!! This was by far my worst experience, as it pertains to the hotel room, and lack of amenities! If you’re going to charge luxury prices, please follow through!

The Hotel is located in the center of the Newport shopping and restaurant district. The rooms are on the Newport Harbour and are both quiet and modern.

Its pretty much the best location in Newport. Beautiful deck area out back. Lobby is very comfortable as well. Walking distance to everything! Room was immaculate! Definitely staying here again!

Nice, modern hotel in a great location. The lobby is beautiful but spent zero time there. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The downsides were small room, no closet (just a clothes rack), no refrigerator, no desk, no notepad and pen. I guess I'm just comparing it to your "typical" hotel room and except for the refrigerator, I didn't really miss the other things. For the money paid I assumed a larger room with these typical amenities. The front desk brought up a small cube refrigerator when we asked. Not sure that I would stay again since there are other options in this price range. They also charge $50 per day for valet parking which I was not aware of. I suppose I could have parked myself somewhere but who wants to do that on vacation?
