We were surprised how unfriendly the check in staff person was. It seemed like she was annoyed we were there. I’m not sure what we did to bother her, maybe because we have young kids but they were pretty well behaved. She did not tell us anything about the property at all- nothing about gym, restaurant, check out, amount they charge to my card. It was very disappointing because the check in is part of the hotel experience and this was a one night in a hotel for my family as a local vacation. It kinda made me feel like we shouldn’t have spent the money. The room was very very nice and I later asked for a microwave from another staff who was very friendly and kind. They brought the microwave so quick to the room, very good service. Unfortunately the person at check in made us feel disappointed about the whole stay as we did spend over 300$ for one night.

Loved everything about our stay. Close to Newport to explore the town. Only thing- the pillows and the bed are not that comfy.. ( at all) so I would stay here again and just bring our own pillows 🙂 other than that 10/10 & so clean! && had a Nespresso maker in our room very nice !

Great sat at The Pell
This is a beautifully decorated hotel in Middletown. I was welcomed when I first arrived and was helped with my luggage since there are no elevators. The room was very clean and quiet. I didn’t eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good. I ran out of body wash and was immediately given a new bottle. The staff is kind and I will definitely stay here again. I’m hoping in the near future that they offer shuttle service to Bowen’s Warf to their guest, that t would be awesome. Also, not a big deal but I think the staff in the restaurant and bar should wear the same attire, would look a bit more professional. Great stay.

Our stay was excellent. The place had been recently renovated & was very, very clean. I always dread walking on the carpet but this was immaculate. All of the staff at the front desk & the restaurant were very friendly & helpful. They even gave you water in the room which has somehow become a rarity at other hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

An Amazing Stay For Our Newport Trip
My husband and I stayed at The Pell in Middletown, Rhode Island ro celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by the front desk clerk, Jason who was very kind and pleasant who went above and beyond to make sure that we had a special stay. The Manager of the restaurant on site, Anthony, was also at the desk, he was also very pleasant. We had many coversations and laughs with him, he also went above and beyond to make our stay special. The entire hotel is inviting, bright and spotless, our room was on the 2nd floor, Jason asked to help with our bags as there is no elevator. The room was perfect, overlooking the back yard, which is complete with lawn games and plenty of seating. Again, everything in our room was spotless and comfortable, a dinette table and chairs included. The bathroom is spacious and spotless, the only thing missing was a hairdryer, thankfully I brought my own. The hotel is convenient to Newport only about a 10 minute drive. If in the area, definitely stay here, we will definitely stay there again as the entire staff is amazing and the hotel is spotless and has plenty of free parking!

Great Hotel however Needs to Elevator
Clean Hotel. Comfortable rooms. My one complaint is that there is no elevator in the establishment so if you’re a family with a stroller, or with a lot of baggage, or if you need to use an elevator for physical reasons, this might not be a great choice. Ask for a first floor room. I think the hotel needs to put that somewhere on their website that there are only stairs and no elevator for the two floor hotel. However, the Staff are very friendly and accommodating minus no elevator and offered to carry our stuff.

The renovation on this motel are really nice. Super friendly and attentive staff. I would definitely stay here again. Not close to any beach or down town. But a nice safe clean spot to rest and reset.
