Somewhat good trip
My overall stay was good. The staff was great and the room service was indeed better than my last visit. However, finding a roach in my room was not the best experience. A friend had to come and remove it from my room as I was very upset considering the cost of my stay. I was a bit uncomfortable for the remainder of the weekend and did not want to keep any of my bags on the floor. Nothing remained open as I did not want to chance bringing anything back to my home. This is always my preferred hotel when I travel to Hampton, so this was disappointing.

Upon arrival at the hotel our first experience was the painfully slow experience with the elevators. One of the two was not functioning, something that was not posted, and no alternates were available (the stairs were for fire exit only). Upon making it to our room we discovered that a previous occupant had smoked in the non smoking room on the non smoking floor. The front desk quickly moved us to another room that was in a better state of odor. While the room was very nice at a 6ft distance, upon close inspection much of the fit and finish seemed very rough. The cleanliness was fine, but it was things like light switches that did nothing, and bathroom finishes that seemed incomplete or of questionable quality. Had a nice stay, there were just several things that prevented this from being a 5 star stay.

After a long day of traveling we were looking for some rest and relaxation with quietness. We were met by a DJ playing loud music and an air conditioning unit that when turned on sounded like twin turbine engines. Every time it turned on through the night it would startle us causing us to wake. Not a very restful night.

Lovely view and friendly service; bath needs TLC
Lovely setting with amazing view. Service was excellent- especially Ant at check in. Beds were comfortable, but the roommates was dates, despite lovely view and good Bed. Doors to bathroom would not fully close and kept opening. And faucet in shower was very loose, took forever to get temperature correct and to get it to stray without turning too cold or too hot. Great potential, room just needs some tlc.
