The hotel currently has lots of bad reviews and I’m not sure why. Our room was clean and whilst could do with being updated was not anything I would mark down for. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Would return.

Ask for a quiet room and you get a room at the back with no view. Other than an hour or so delay getting our rooms (we were not early), our stay was fine. Staff helpful, breakfast replenished. Roof top pool is more plunge. limited sun beds and bar food not available all day.

Little disappointed with the condition of the room , as 4 star hotel we expect better room , but washroom is dirty , room super tiny , front desk staff not too friendly . Location is great , walk distance to beach and restaurant. But doesn’t match with the price , would not come again

Aston La Scala Nice is conveniently located, close to public transport and dining options. It's also walking distance to the Promenade des Anglaise. Location-wise it's great. The rooftop restaurant is also a great place to have a drink or have dinner, watching the sunset. But we were surprised to see that both the hotel's restaurants did not have authentic Nicoise cuisine on offer. The negatives: The rooms are old and small. The air conditioner in our room didn't really cool, and it was uncomfortably hot on a 35C day. The hotel in general doesn't really have 4 star facilities, although it is marketed as such. The bathroom layout is also a bit problematic- the shower is inside the bathtub, with only a partial glass shower screen, and when you shower, water splashes all over the floor, and unless you are careful, you could slip and fall, getting out of the tub.

Staff are very nice, they work with what they have. The hotel is in poor condition even remodeled room were poorly redone, cracks everywhere, some of the people didn’t have hot water. The roof top swimming pool, tiles are moving, you can trip at anytime. Can’t believe this is a 4 stars hotel. Won’t be back to this hotel and won’t recommend it.

Great location, but the hotel seriously needs a rethink! Recently stayed at Hotel Aston La Scala in Nice, and I have to say It’s been mostly disappointment wrapped in a great location. Let’s start with the basics. We were told we’d receive a room upgrade.. that didn’t happen. The room itself is ok. Clean but with a TV that looks like it was installed during the early days of plasma screens. The bed is two singles awkwardly pushed together and feels about as comfortable as a park bench. Air conditioning? More of a suggestion than a feature. The WiFi is borderline useless, constantly dropping out, making it near impossible to do anything beyond refreshing the weather app (which kindly tells you it’s 35°C outside). You’d think that might warrant a dip in the hotel pool… until you find out it’s only open from 10am to 5pm. Yes, in the middle of summer. Apparently cooling off in the early evening or before breakfast isn’t part of the plan here. The rooftop bar does offer lovely views, but the drink prices are completely unjustified! more “luxury rooftop club” pricing, less “meh hotel bar.” Credit where it’s due: the location is excellent, close to transport, the beach, and the Old Town. But sadly, the hotel doesn’t come close to matching the charm of its surroundings. A stay that promised quite a bit, but delivered just enough to make you question your booking.

Our room with a balcony view was amazing. It was the beginning of my 50th birthday trip and when we arrived the hotel had left a bottle of wine with a birthday greeting, which was so great. I had two issues beyond that 1) our room was not cleaned well at all. By the third day, we had to ask them to clean the floors. They had not been swept or mopped. I also had set out the bag and filled out the slip for items to be laundered. They were not picked up by the cleaning staff, so I brought them to the front desk later that night. They said they would be cleaned by the next evening. When I went down to pick up the items, the girl at the front desk handed the entire bag back to me. It was never sent for service. This was beyond disappointing as this was our first stop and some of my husbands shirts needed to be cleaned. Beyond those two issues, I would 100% stay there again. The service at the rooftop was fantastic and the location couldn't be any better.

Hôtel Aston La Scala – France Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Room (Stayed in Room 517): The view from the room was excellent, and the space was generous. Daily housekeeping did a very good job. However, maintenance was lacking—there was mold in the shower, not enough hangers, and the safe was placed inconveniently close to the floor. The air conditioning was weak, and despite calling maintenance twice, it was never resolved. Breakfast: Outstanding breakfast with a wide variety of options and friendly staff. The only issue was the lack of order around the boiled egg station—some guests did not respect the queue. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend the breakfast. Hotel Location: Perfect location—close to everything, with a tram stop just steps away. Ideal for exploring the city. Hotel Conditions: Unfortunately, maintenance is a serious concern. Many areas of the building feel abandoned. The rooftop pool was very dirty, lobby furniture was damaged, and the overall organization was poor. The hotel has great potential but needs better management and upkeep. Rooftop Bar/Restaurant: While the rooftop view is beautiful, the food was mediocre and took a long time to arrive. Most installations need urgent maintenance. The quality of drinks was also disappointing and needs improvement. Conclusion: Despite the issues, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning. We recommend the hotel for its location and views, but management needs to urgently address the maintenance and organizationa

Great choice. Love the property, location, rooms, and staff. We were greeted by Raphael at the reception upon our arrival and he also was there at the check out. Super courteous, friendly and helpful. I liked our experience a lot. I wish the rooms had shampoo and conditioner - I was surprised the see they didn’t provided even when I asked. The hotel is in a great location making it really easy to explore the city or hit the beach. The quality of the bed sheets, etc could have been much improved. It felt overall clean but it still lacked a bit on that front.
